History YouTube Scriptwriter

Summary

We create animated history videos that turn real historical events into hilarious, cinematic stories. Our goal is simple: people should learn history without feeling like they’re learning history. Every video should make viewers laugh, stay curious, and want to keep watching until the very last second. We don’t produce dry documentaries or textbook-style narration. We tell history through humour, memorable characters, fast-paced storytelling, and creative narrative devices that transform history into unforgettable entertainment. We’re looking for a talented history researcher and scriptwriter to join our team. What You’ll Do * Research historical events, people, battles, empires, inventions, and civilizations using reliable sources. * Write engaging YouTube scripts (typically 2,000–2,500 words). * Transform historical facts into entertaining, story-driven narratives. * Write funny, natural dialogue between historical figures and recurring original characters. * Use creative framing devices to tell stories in unexpected ways—for example, presenting history as a courtroom trial, job interview, therapy session, reality TV show, training manual, video game, corporate meeting, police investigation, or any other inventive concept that makes the story more engaging. * Keep the comedy flowing throughout the script while remaining respectful of the historical subject. * Create running jokes, callbacks, witty observations, and humorous character interactions that reward viewers for watching until the end. * Balance humour with suspense, drama, and emotional moments where appropriate. * Provide research sources and citations for every script. Our Style We are story-first, comedy-first, history always. We want scripts that feel like animated comedy films rather than documentaries. Humour should be woven throughout the script—not saved for occasional jokes. Every scene should either make the audience laugh, surprise them, or leave them eager to see what happens next. One of the defining features of our channel is the use of creative narrative devices. Rather than simply telling history in chronological order, we often frame an entire episode around an imaginative concept that drives the storytelling from beginning to end. We’re looking for writers who can naturally incorporate: * Creative framing devices that make historical stories feel fresh and original. * Funny dialogue and memorable character interactions. * Running jokes and clever callbacks. * Comedic interruptions and escalating humour. * Distinct personalities for historical figures. * Modern humour without sacrificing historical accuracy. * Visual comedy opportunities that translate well into animation. * Cinematic reveals, twists, and unexpected transitions. The ideal script should make viewers forget they’re watching a history lesson—they should feel like they’re watching an animated comedy that just happens to be historically accurate. What We’re Looking For * Excellent historical research skills. * Outstanding storytelling ability. * Strong comedic writing skills and timing. * Creativity in developing unique storytelling concepts and framing devices. * Ability to write natural, memorable dialogue. * Understanding of YouTube audience retention and pacing. * Previous scriptwriting experience is an advantage but not essential. * Comfortable receiving feedback and revising scripts. * A genuine passion for making history entertaining. AI Policy AI tools are welcome and may be used for research, brainstorming, outlining, and improving workflow. However, we’re looking for scripts with originality, personality, and genuine creativity. The finished script should feel like it was written by an entertaining storyteller - not generated by AI. Compensation Starting from $15–20 USD per script, depending on quality, experience, and turnaround time. Writers who consistently deliver exceptional work will have the opportunity for ongoing projects and increased rates over time.
