Hospitality Learning Specialist

Hospitality Learning Specialist | Project-Based Contractor IMPORTANT: You MUST have professional experience in Hospitality, Travel, and/or Tourism to be considered for this role. We’re looking for an experienced Hospitality Learning Specialist to support project-based learning and training initiatives. This is not a general instructional design opportunity. We specifically need someone who understands the realities of hospitality, travel, tourism, guest experience, and frontline service environments and can bring that real-world knowledge into the learning experience. What You’ll Do * You’ll work alongside learning designers, developers, project leads, and subject matter experts to turn operational knowledge and guest experience standards into practical, engaging learning. Your work may include: * Designing realistic hospitality and service-based learning scenarios * Creating storyboards, learning flows, and learner journeys * Translating operational best practices into engaging learning experiences * Interviewing SMEs and gathering information * Reviewing learning content for industry authenticity and relevance * Providing clear content and design direction to development teams * Participating in client discovery calls and project meetings * Helping ensure learning reflects what actually happens in real-world hospitality and service environments MUST-HAVE Industry Experience Please do not apply unless you have relevant Hospitality, Travel, and/or Tourism experience. We are specifically looking for professionals who understand areas such as: Hospitality • Hotels • Resorts • Travel • Tourism • Guest Experience • Customer Experience • Frontline Service • Hospitality Operations • Service Training You should have firsthand knowledge of guest/customer expectations and the realities faced by frontline teams. Experience training adults within hospitality or service environments is strongly preferred. Additional Skills You should be comfortable: * Turning operational knowledge into engaging learning activities * Creating realistic scenarios based on industry experience * Communicating professionally with clients and stakeholders * Interviewing subject matter experts * Collaborating with creative and production teams * Working in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint * Using Zoom and AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT * Working with project management platforms Instructional design experience and experience creating facilitator guides, workshops, training materials, or eLearning content are a plus. Please note: This is not primarily an eLearning development/production role. You will not be responsible for building courses in tools such as Storyline or Rise. The focus is on thinking, shaping, and guiding the learning experience. Contractor Arrangement This is a remote, project-based independent contractor opportunity. Assignments, schedules, and compensation will vary depending on project scope, and there may be opportunities to support future projects based on performance and availability. Face-to-Face Zoom InterviewYou will meet with our team via Zoom, with cameras on, so we can discuss your background, industry experience, and approach to learning. 2. Paid Skills TestCandidates who progress through the process will be asked to complete a short paid test assignment so we can evaluate how you approach realistic hospitality learning scenarios and project work. Both steps are required to be considered for contractor opportunities.
