Job Title: Creative Freelance Illustrator / Character Designer – Beaver Family Mascots for Kids Festival About the Project: We are seeking a talented Freelance Cartoon Character Designer / Illustrator to help bring our festival's official mascots to life! Our festival is built around a charming Canadian Beaver character. We are looking to expand this brand into a complete, lovable Beaver Family (Grandparent, Father, Mother, Children/Kids) to be featured across a wide range of festival materials—including event signage, digital media, merchandise, storybooks, and promotional displays. We already have initial designs and concepts established, but we need an experienced artist to either refine and elevate our existing artwork to a commercial, high-professional standard or design fresh, complementary iterations that fit our updated visual identity. Key Responsibilities: Elevate, polish, or redesign our existing Beaver character and create a unified, expressive Beaver Family (Grandparent, Dad, Mom, 5 kids of different ages). Produce clean vector/high-resolution character sheets with multiple poses, expressions, and outfits suitable for different festival themes. Ensure designs translate seamlessly across various mediums (print, roll-up banners, web, social media, and merchandise). Requirements: Proven experience in cartoon character design, mascot creation, or children's book illustration. Strong portfolio showcasing character design, family/group consistency, and expressive vector art. Ability to work from existing brand concepts while bringing fresh, creative ideas to the table.
