Illustrator needed to redraw and refine a 5-panel atlas-style map for a printed book

Summary

Project overview: I need an illustrator to redraw a 5-panel reference map (attached) in a clean atlas style for the front matter of a printed book. This is not a tracing assignment. My reference image establishes the final panel layout and the complete set of locations and labels — that content should not change. However, the geographic shapes, borders, coastlines, and location placements in the reference are approximate and must be independently verified and corrected. Style requirements: Black and white atlas style — no color. Clean, minimalist precise — think classic atlas or almanac maps. Simple black dots for location markers, consistent size across the map. Bold labels for region names, lighter/smaller labels for city names Border lines (including dashed and dotted sections) rendered precisely and consistently No unnecessary topographic detail, no roads needed unless they are included on my reference map (see attached). Accuracy and source requirements: The five-panel layout and the complete set of included locations and labels are final — you can suggest to me, but please do not add, remove, or rename any locations or labels without approval. Label placement may be adjusted as needed for geographic accuracy and legibility. The borders, coastlines, geographic shapes, and marker positions in the reference image are approximate and must not simply be copied. Again, you are responsible for independently verifying and correcting the geography using reliable mapping sources. I can provide Google Maps links to identify the relevant areas and locations, but these are factual references only — the final artwork must be newly drawn and must not trace, copy, or closely imitate Google Maps or another provider's visual design, so as not to violate Google Maps' copyright. Please briefly explain in your proposal how you would verify geographic accuracy while creating an original redraw. Technical/print specs: I) Layered, editable Adobe Illustrator (.AI) source file preferred. If you don't work in Adobe Illustrator this is not disqualifiying, but let me know what software you work in in your proposal. Text should remain editable in the source file (not outlined), unless fonts must be outlined for final delivery. II) Print-ready vector PDF III) Flattened 300 DPI grayscale TIFF designed for a single page in a 6 × 9 inch printed book IV) High-resolution PNG for ebook/digital use Rights & usage: This is for commercial use Full copyright ownership of the commissioned artwork, together with delivery of all editable source files, is assigned to me upon payment of the complete amount as specifed in your proposal. The selected freelancer will be asked to review and sign a standard, 1 to 3 page rights assignment agreement — including copyright transfer, moral rights waiver, and indemnification for any third-party IP infringement — before work begins. Please confirm in your proposal that you're willing to sign this agreement. Revisions: Please include at least 2 rounds of revisions in your fixed-price proposal. Corrections needed to meet the agreed geographic, labeling, or technical specifications will not count as a discretionary revision round. First draft should focus on geographic placement accuracy (borders, coastlines, labels, marker positions) before final styling is applied. Timeline & pricing: This is a fixed-price project — please propose your fixed price in your application Please include in your proposal: Time to deliver a first draft Your estimate of total project time from start to final delivery. I will provide feedback/comments within one business day of receiving each draft. Accuracy and professional execution matter more than an unrealistically fast promise — please propose realistic timing. Your Portfolio/Similar work: Please include examples of maps, diagrams, technical illustrations, or other precise print-oriented artwork Thank you very much
