Illustrator wanted for children's books

Hi, I am looking for an illustrator for a 7 book series that I intend to self publish in both eBook and print formats. I have done some mock up illustrations using AI which would help describe my vision. However, my creative skills do not extend to art and design and so I need a collaborative working relationship, discussion of the vision, sketches shared before color is added and an approach than ensures consistency across the entire series. Creative control however, will ultimately be up to you. Task: Create 28 scenes (over 14 spreads), plus front and back cover per book (x7 for the entire series). If you can format the book, that is even better. The series is designed with a grow-with-me approach (age 3-8). Each book will teach a color using playful rhyme and engaging illustrations while encouraging children to discover that color in nature. Young children can first enjoy the first 7 pages of rhymes and illustrations. These would include two lines of rhyme per page and would require illustrations that include scenes. The next 7 pages are informational content / fun facts and the illustrations are expected to be more simple. I am looking for warm watercolor, nature-forward imagery, diverse recurring children, scientific/natural realism where appropriate, and consistency across the entire series. Money: This is a complete body of work that includes 7 books and a flat fee would work well for me that includes transfer of copyright and final art work to me at the author. I will be happy to credit the illustrator on and in the book. I am unsure what a ‘fair’ rate but I am not able to pay several thousands. Legal: There will be a written agreement setting out the rights, obligations, deadlines and compensation. Timeframe: I would like to publish this year but I am flexible as I am unsure how long a project like this should take.
