Impact Report + Infographic Design — 48hr Rush
Worldwide
A US-based nonprofit working on K-12 education policy and advocacy. Our annual donor impact report is written, edited, and final. We need an experienced editorial designer to turn it into a polished, sophisticated document that a major donor will actually read to the end. This is a rush job with a hard deadline, and we are paying a premium for it. Please only apply if you can start within hours of being hired and deliver a complete first draft within 24 hours. Everything you need is ready to hand over the moment we hire: final copy, brand assets, photography, and references. Note on content: the report covers antisemitism and political activism in American schools. It is a policy and advocacy document. We mention this so anyone who would rather not work on this subject can pass now rather than partway through. THE PROJECT Approximately 3,900 words of final copy across nine sections. We expect roughly 20 pages but are open to your recommendation — tell us the page count you would propose and why. Distribution is PDF only, emailed to donors. It will not be printed. A meaningful share of readers will open it on a phone, so we need single-column body text, comfortable type sizes, and no dense two-column spreads. PAGE ARCHITECTURE - Cover and back cover - Two executive letters (CEO and Board Chair) with headshots and signature lines - "The Challenge" — one high-impact page setting up the problem - "Impact at a Glance" — a data page with eight key statistics; this page needs to land hard and should work as a standalone screenshot - Three case-study spreads in a repeating What We Did / What Changed / Why It Matters structure - Parent testimonial pull-quote treatments, placed between the case studies - A media and press section with an outlet logo strip - A three-part "Looking Ahead" section - A closing call-to-action page TWO CUSTOM INFOGRAPHICS (important) 1. A diagram of our nine-step advocacy model, showing how research becomes government accountability. Nine steps in a single line is unreadable, so we expect them grouped into three labeled phases with clear directional flow. This is the intellectual centerpiece of the report and should own a full page. 2. A companion graphic later in the report that visually echoes the first, but showing our three forward priorities as parts of that same model. Please do not apply if information design is not something you do well. WHAT WE PROVIDE - Final copy, locked. It will not change during design. - Logo files and brand fonts - Brand palette: #1C2954 (navy), #c7d6ec (light blue), #dc9681 (coral) - Available photography DELIVERABLES - Screen-optimized PDF, RGB, under 5MB, with selectable text - All links live — donation link, email addresses, and cited outlets and reports - PDF bookmarks for section navigation - Editable source file plus fonts and linked assets, in a format our team can update next year - One round of revisions, returned within 6 hours STYLE DIRECTION Serious, credible, institutional. Think a well-designed foundation annual review or think-tank report — restrained typography, strong hierarchy, generous white space, confident data visualization. Navy should dominate; the coral is an accent used sparingly. Not corporate-glossy, not a slide deck. No stock photography, no gradients, no icon soup.
