Summary

We are hiring for a law firm — the most trusted law firm in our State. We are hiring four Intake & Onboarding Specialists. People come to us when they are in serious financial trouble. You are the first human they speak to. In one conversation you have to make them feel genuinely better, determine which of our services they qualify for, and — this is the part that matters — get them to start. Not think about it. Start, on that call, with a small initial payment. This is a closer role. We call it intake because that is the title the position carries in a law firm, and the first half of the call genuinely is intake. But nobody should take this job thinking they will collect information and pass it along; you need to be comfortable and skilled at following-through with setting up their initial retainer and payment plan. The number You are measured on how many of your scheduled consultations end with the client retained. Our target band is 60–65% — achievable because the leads are warm, the appointment is already on your calendar, and the person asked us to call them. If you have closed on the phone, you know the difference between a 45% closer and a 62% closer is not knowledge. It is skill. Every call is transcribed, and reviewed by your supervisor, and coaching is daily and specific. If that sounds unpleasant, stop here. What we have already built for you • A complete consultation script — the actual questions, in order, that determine what services a prospective client qualifies for. • A closing waterfall — the exact closing sequence. • A live reference tool for every call — every technical term in plain English. • A Complete training manual- which you will receive prior to your first day with clear, detailed information about all aspects of your job. • Step-by-step, Click-by-click Guide to doing virtually all regular tasks in our CRM, including call prep and post-call processing. The work Calls are scheduled to your calendar — no cold lists, no prospecting. Roughly 5 to 8 consultations a day, plus follow-ups on people who did not sign up the first time; closing one of those counts the same. Our fee is flat, all-inclusive, in the low four figures, and set by an attorney. You never negotiate it — what you negotiate is the installment amount and the schedule. The hard limits — read this twice These come from bar rules, not our preference. You work under attorney supervision, and you may not: • Give legal advice or formulate legal strategy. You discuss the facts of a case, never the law as applied to it. • Set or negotiate the fee, evaluate what a case is worth, or settle a claim. • Sign retainer agreements or finalize an engagement. • Decide on your own judgment to accept or decline a case — that belongs to an attorney. • Ever refuse a prospective client who asks to speak with an attorney. Violating these is grounds for immediate termination, and in most cases we would have no discretion. And you never guess: when you do not know, you say so and come back with the answer. Who this is for • You have closed multiple transactions on the phone, where someone had to pay before the call ended — and you can state your conversion rate and how you improved it. • You are comfortable working from a script. Not resigned to one — you would rather spend your energy on delivery than invention, but you can ad lib when necessary. • You have command. In thirty seconds a stranger decides whether they reached a professional or a call center clerk. You know which you sound like, and how. This role is not for order-takers, or for anyone who wants to give legal advice. Requirements • 3+ years of phone closing experience, consumer-facing, with a real number attached. Industry matters far less than whether the agreement was closed on the call. • Fluent, natural conversational English. Your voice is the entire product, and our clients must understand you without effort — trust here is built in the first twenty seconds. Said plainly, so neither of us wastes an interview: if you do not speak English fluently and conversationally, this is not the right role. • A professional headset and microphone — required — plus bandwidth that holds clear audio for a full call. Speakerphone, laptop microphones, and earbuds are not adequate. • A quiet, dedicated workspace. Background noise is disqualifying, not an inconvenience. • Availability during US Eastern business hours, on a set schedule. Engagement and onboarding $25 to start, and growth up to $40 per hour depending on job performance. Independent contractor engagement through Upwork. How to apply Keep it brief; we read for substance, not length. Begin your proposal with the word "Closer" so we know you read the posting rather than sent a template. Then answer three questions: 1. What was your conversion rate in your most recent phone closing role, how was it measured, and what did you change that improved it? 2. Describe the last time someone said "I need to think about it" and you closed them anyway. What did you actually say? 3. Our specialists cannot give legal advice, set fees, or promise outcomes. Tell us about a time you closed within a hard restriction like that. Finally, tell us the hours you can commit to in US Eastern time. How we will screen A 10-minute call first, with one purpose: to confirm what a proposal cannot show — that you speak English comfortably, that your headset produces clean professional audio, and that your connection holds for a full call. Take it from the workspace and equipment you would actually work from. Then a 25-minute interview about how you close, and a 20-minute live role-play — we send our closing script in advance and you run a consultation with the supervisor playing the client. That is the part that decides it.
