Project Overview AURA Elevators is developing a premium showroom and digital customer experience for elevator products. We are looking for an experienced Real-Time 3D Developer / 3D Product Configurator Developer to build a web-based interactive platform that allows customers to configure elevator products, customize materials and finishes, and see the result instantly in realistic 3D. This is not a 3D rendering or animation-only project. We need a real-time interactive 3D application where the customer can change product configurations, materials, components, lighting, and door types, and immediately see the changes in the 3D model. The application will initially be used on a large touchscreen in our showroom, with future integration into our website, CRM, and customer application. 1. Main Platform Structure The first screen should allow the customer to select one of three product experiences: A. DOORS Elevator Door Configurator B. COMPLETE ELEVATOR Full Elevator & Cabin Configurator C. HOME LIFT Home Lift Configurator The platform should be developed using a modular architecture, allowing us to add new products, materials, components, and configurations in the future. 2. PHASE 1 — ELEVATOR DOOR CONFIGURATOR Phase 1 will be the first paid development milestone and will also be used to evaluate the developer before proceeding with the complete platform. The customer should be able to select: Door Operation Automatic Doors Center Opening Telescopic Right Opening Telescopic Left Opening Semi-Automatic Doors Right Opening Left Opening Door Finish The customer should then be able to apply different finishes, such as: Hairline Stainless Steel Mirror Stainless Steel Champagne Stainless Steel Black Stainless Steel Other finishes provided by AURA Materials should use realistic PBR rendering, including appropriate: Metalness Roughness Reflections Normal/bump details Environment reflections The visual result should represent the actual physical material samples as closely as reasonably possible. 3. Interactive Door Simulation This is a core requirement. The customer must be able to see the selected door operate in real-time 3D. Examples: Center Opening → Both panels open from the center. Telescopic Right → Door panels slide and stack toward the right. Telescopic Left → Door panels slide and stack toward the left. Semi-Automatic Right / Left → Door opening animation should reflect the selected direction. Controls should include, at minimum: OPEN CLOSE Front View Interior View 3D Rotate / Orbit Zoom The door animation must be part of the interactive 3D scene and not a pre-rendered video. The selected stainless steel/material should remain visually correct during the animation, including reflections and lighting. 4. PHASE 2 — COMPLETE ELEVATOR CONFIGURATOR After successful completion of Phase 1, we intend to expand the platform into a complete elevator configurator. The customer will begin with a blank elevator cabin. The cabin should not initially be a fixed finished design. The customer should progressively build and customize the cabin. Cabin Configuration The customer should configure: Cabin Dimensions / Model Then independently configure: Right Wall Left Wall Back Wall 5. Modular Wall Panel Builder This is an important requirement. Before selecting materials, the customer should select the Panel Layout for each cabin wall. Examples: Single Full Panel Multiple Vertical Panels Multiple Horizontal Panels Combination Layouts After selecting the layout, each panel should become independently configurable. Example: Back Wall Panel 1 → Hairline Stainless Steel Panel 2 → Walnut Wood-Look Panel Panel 3 → Hairline Stainless Steel The 3D model should update instantly. This means the system must support modular / parametric cabin construction, not only simple color or texture replacement. 6. Material Library The cabin should support multiple material categories. Stainless Steel / Metal Hairline Mirror Champagne Black Decorative Stainless Steel Additional AURA samples Wood-Look Panels Walnut Oak Dark Wood Light Wood Other physical samples Marble / Stone-Look Panels Calacatta Black Marble Beige Marble Other finishes The objective is to create a Digital Material Library matching AURA's physical showroom samples. The system should be designed so new materials can easily be added later. 7. Mirror Configuration The customer should also be able to configure mirrors on the cabin wall. Examples: No Mirror Full Width Mirror Full Height Mirror Half Height Mirror Vertical Rectangular Mirror Other predefined mirror layouts Mirror size and position should change correctly in the 3D model. 8. Additional Cabin Components The complete elevator configurator will eventually include: Flooring Different marble, stone, porcelain, wood and other finishes. Ceiling Different ceiling designs. Lighting Including different lighting designs and color temperatures, for example: Warm Neutral Cool Lighting should realistically affect the appearance of the stainless steel, wood, marble, mirror and other materials. Handrail Different models, positions and finishes. COP — Car Operating Panel Different: Designs Buttons Displays Finishes Positions LOP — Landing Operating Panel Different designs and finishes. Floor Indicator / Display Different display designs and configurations. Elevator Door The Door Configurator developed in Phase 1 should become part of the Complete Elevator Configurator rather than being rebuilt separately. 9. PHASE 3 — HOME LIFT CONFIGURATOR The architecture must allow a future dedicated Home Lift experience. Potential configurations include: Square Home Lift Rectangular Home Lift Circular / Round Home Lift Structure Design Glass Options Structure Finish Cabin Design Door Type Door Finish Flooring Lighting Control Panel Materials The customer should eventually be able to see the configured Home Lift in a realistic 3D environment. Phase 3 is not part of the initial Phase 1 quotation, but the architecture should be designed with this future expansion in mind. 10. 3D & Material Realism Visual quality is very important. The system should provide realistic representation of: Brushed / Hairline Stainless Steel Mirror Stainless Steel Champagne Stainless Steel Wood-Look Panels Marble-Look Panels Mirrors Glass Flooring Lighting We understand that real-time WebGL rendering is different from offline architectural rendering. Our goal is: High Visual Realism + Smooth Real-Time Performance rather than extremely heavy photorealistic rendering that compromises usability. 11. Touchscreen Experience The application will initially be used in the AURA showroom. It should therefore be optimized for a large touchscreen, approximately: 43–55 inches The UI should be: Premium Minimal Modern Easy for customers Touch-friendly Visually focused on the 3D model Customers should not need technical elevator knowledge to use the configurator. 12. Final Configuration At the end of the configuration process, the system should be capable of generating structured configuration information. Example: Configuration ID: AURA-CFG-00482 Cabin: 1100 × 1400 × 2300 Right Wall: Layout: V3 Panel 1: SS-HL-01 Panel 2: WOOD-W03 Panel 3: SS-HL-01 Back Wall: Layout: V3 Mirror: Vertical Full Height Floor: MAR-CAL-02 Ceiling: CL-05 Lighting: 3000K Handrail: HR-02 COP: COP-07 Door: Automatic Center Opening Door Finish: SS-HL-01 The exact data structure will be finalized later. 13. Future System Integration The 3D Configurator should be developed as a standalone modular application that can later communicate with the AURA platform through APIs. Future integration may include: 3D Configurator → CRM → Quotation → Contract → Technical Approval → Procurement → Installation Possible future functionality: Save customer design Configuration ID QR Code Share Design PDF Specification Pricing Quotation Generation CRM Integration Customer App Integration Website Integration These are future features and are not necessarily part of Phase 1. 14. Preferred Technologies We are open to recommendations from experienced developers. Relevant technologies may include: Three.js Babylon.js WebGL Blender GLTF / GLB PBR Materials Real-Time Lighting We care more about the final architecture, visual quality, performance and maintainability than using one specific technology. 15. Required Developer Experience We are specifically looking for someone with experience in: Interactive 3D Product Configurators Three.js and/or Babylon.js WebGL Blender GLTF / GLB Optimization PBR Materials Real-Time Lighting 3D Animation Web Performance Optimization Touchscreen UI/UX Experience developing configurators for: Cars Furniture Kitchens Interior Design Architectural Products Doors Elevators Industrial Products is highly relevant. We are not looking for a 3D artist who only produces renders or videos. 16. Application Instructions To confirm that you have read and understood the project, please start your proposal with: AURA 3D Then answer the following: Please provide 2–3 links to interactive real-time 3D configurators you personally developed. What exactly was your role in those projects? Which technology would you recommend for AURA — Three.js, Babylon.js, or another technology — and why? How would you create realistic Hairline, Mirror and Champagne Stainless Steel in real-time 3D? How would you reproduce our real physical wood, marble and stainless-steel samples digitally? How would you implement Center Opening and Telescopic door animations? How would you structure the project so the Door Configurator can later become part of the Complete Elevator Configurator? How would you build the modular wall system where each panel can have a different material? How would you optimize the application for a 43–55 inch showroom touchscreen? What hardware specifications would you recommend? Please provide your estimated: Cost for Phase 1 Development time for Phase 1 Please clearly state whether 3D modeling, material creation, UI/UX and programming are included in your quotation. Generic proposals without relevant interactive 3D examples may not be considered. 17. Phase 1 Deliverables For the initial engagement, please quote primarily for the Door Configurator. Expected Phase 1 deliverables: Web-based interactive 3D Door Configurator Automatic Center Opening Automatic Telescopic Right Automatic Telescopic Left Semi-Automatic Right Semi-Automatic Left Multiple realistic door materials Real-time OPEN/CLOSE animations Camera rotation and zoom Front and interior viewing Touchscreen-friendly interface Optimized 3D models Source code Editable 3D source files Materials/textures Basic technical documentation Architecture ready for future expansion AURA must receive the agreed source code and custom-created project assets upon completion and final payment. Any third-party paid assets, libraries, textures, plugins or licenses must be disclosed and approved before use. Our Goal We are not simply looking for a 3D visualization. We want to build a long-term AURA 3D Product Configuration Platform where customers can: Choose → Customize → Experience → Compare → Finalize their elevator before purchasing it.
