Job Title: macOS / Full-Stack Developer Needed to Build Automated BlueBubbles Setup Assistant Job Description: We are looking for an experienced developer to build a custom setup assistant/app that automates the deployment and configuration of a Mac-hosted BlueBubbles server for an iMessage integration project. Our core infrastructure (Supabase Auth, database, and n8n webhooks) is already fully built. We need a streamlined application or utility that guides our users through setting up their Mac host environment by handling as much of the configuration programmatically as possible. Core Workflow Requirements: 1. Supabase Authentication & Webhook Fetching: The user logs into our custom tool using Supabase Auth. Using the user's uuid retrieved from the database, the app automatically fetches their unique webhook endpoints. 2. Automated Webhook & Password Synchronization: The app must automatically configure or guide the insertion of the fetched webhooks (New Server URL and New Messages URL) into the BlueBubbles app environment. When the user sets up their custom password in BlueBubbles, the app must trigger an API call to securely send the plain-text password back to our backend. 3. Automated Mac Configuration Steps: Automate the post-installation setup steps starting from downloading and installing the BlueBubbles client package through all subsequent configuration and automation persistence settings (such as setting up background run persistence and login item launch tasks). Where system-level commands are required (such as modifying library validations or kernel boot arguments), the app should script the terminal execution or seamlessly prompt the user for their Mac administrator password only when strictly required by macOS security boundaries. Clearly guide the user through the non-automatable manual security steps (such as granting Gatekeeper permissions, booting into Recovery Mode to disable SIP, and restarting). Required Skills & Experience: • Strong experience with macOS application development or scripting (Node.js, Electron, Tauri, or advanced shell/AppleScript automation). • Familiarity with Supabase Auth and REST API integrations. • Understanding of macOS system permissions, TCC frameworks, plists, and terminal execution workflows. • Experience working with third-party APIs or message gateways (like BlueBubbles) is a massive plus.
