Japanese Food YouTube Content Creator / English Localization

We are looking for someone to help bring Japanese food culture and craftsmanship to an international audience through YouTube. Our project is based around a small sushi restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo. Our content focuses on sushi craftsmanship, Japanese ingredients, fish markets, traditional techniques, food culture, and the people behind them. We are NOT simply looking for direct Japanese-to-English translation. We want someone who can understand Japanese content and help adapt it naturally for international viewers — identifying what needs explanation, what may be interesting or surprising to overseas audiences, and how the story can be presented effectively in English. Possible responsibilities: - English localization of Japanese YouTube content - English subtitles and captions - Reviewing videos from an international viewer's perspective - Suggestions for titles, thumbnails, and story structure - Video editing, if this is one of your skills - Occasionally helping with filming or content planning in Tokyo, if you are based nearby Ideal candidate: - Native or near-native English - Some understanding of Japanese - Strong interest in Japanese food, culture, craftsmanship, or documentary-style content - Familiar with YouTube and online video - Able to explain Japanese concepts naturally rather than translate word-for-word You do not need to be an expert in every area.
