Java Backend & Next.js Frontend Integration

We are looking for a developer to complete a small full-stack task using Java for the backend and Next.js for the frontend. ## Scope of Work - Review the existing Java backend and Next.js frontend - Create or update a small REST API in Java - Connect the Next.js frontend with the Java API - Implement one simple feature or data flow - Handle API responses and basic error states - Fix minor integration or configuration issues - Verify the application works correctly in development and production builds - Deploy the updated application to the provided server or hosting environment ## Backend Tasks - Java REST API development - Update an existing endpoint or create a new endpoint - Basic request validation - JSON response handling - Fix minor backend issues if required ## Frontend Tasks - Integrate the Java API into the Next.js application - Update one existing page or component - Add loading and error handling - Ensure the page works on desktop and mobile - Verify the Next.js production build ## Deployment - Configure required environment variables - Build the Java backend for production - Build the Next.js application for production - Deploy both applications to the provided environment - Verify API and frontend communication after deployment ## Requirements - Experience with Java - Experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks - Strong knowledge of Next.js and React - Experience working with REST APIs - Familiarity with production deployment - Ability to troubleshoot frontend/backend integration issues - Clean and maintainable code ## Deliverables - Working Java backend changes - Working Next.js frontend changes - Successful frontend/backend API integration - Production-ready builds - Deployment completed - Source code with all changes - Short documentation describing setup and deployment This is a small, clearly defined project.
