KDP Journal / Workbook Designer Needed to Adapt Existing Art Therapy Card Deck

We are looking for an experienced book designer / layout designer to transform an existing therapeutic art card deck into a professionally designed print-on-demand guided journal/workbook for Amazon KDP. The original product, Patternscapes, is an existing card deck created by an emotional wellness professional and artist. The deck combines her original artwork with therapeutic prompts and art-based reflection exercises. All of the core content already exists. We are not looking for someone to create new artwork or reinvent the product from scratch. Instead, we need someone who can take the existing cards, artwork, prompts, and overall concept and thoughtfully translate them into a beautiful, functional journal/workbook that works as a standalone book. What We Need The final book will combine: -Existing original Patternscapes artwork -Existing therapeutic prompts and exercises -Space for readers to write, reflect, draw, or complete exercises -Guided journal/workbook pages -Introductory and instructional pages -A cohesive visual system that carries the feeling of the original card deck into book form -A polished interior appropriate for an emotional wellness / art therapy audience We want this to feel like an intentional guided experience, not simply the card designs pasted onto pages. You should be comfortable determining how the content can transition from individual cards into a natural book flow, including when artwork should be full-page, when prompts need additional writing space, and how the reader progresses through the book. Amazon KDP Experience Is Important The finished book will be published as a print-on-demand book through Amazon KDP, so we strongly prefer someone who has previous experience preparing interiors for KDP. You should understand: -KDP trim sizes and page requirements -Margins and gutters -Bleed vs. no-bleed interiors -Print-safe artwork placement -Image resolution -Paperback formatting -Creating print-ready PDF files -Designing journals, workbooks, activity books, or other interactive interiors We would also like your input on the best trim size and overall format for this particular product. Cover & Spine Design Ideally, we would like to find someone who can also design and prepare the front cover, back cover, and spine artwork for the finished book. Experience creating covers specifically for Amazon KDP, including proper sizing, bleed, spine calculations, and print-ready files, is highly preferred. However, cover design is not a requirement to apply. We will absolutely consider applicants who have exceptional interior book formatting and layout experience but do not specialize in cover design. If you can handle both the interior and cover/spine design, please let us know and include examples of previous book covers and spines you have designed, particularly anything created for Amazon KDP. Deliverables Final deliverables should include: -Complete designed book interior -Print-ready KDP interior PDF -Editable/source design files -Properly sized and formatted interior -Reasonable revision rounds -Assistance correcting any formatting issues identified during the KDP upload/proofing process -If applicable, complete front cover, back cover, and spine design -If applicable, print-ready KDP cover file and editable/source cover files -We would also like someone who can help guide us through the uploading process on Amazon.
