Key Grip / Gaffer – Sprinter Van & Grip/Electric Partnership

We're looking for an experienced Key Grip, Gaffer, or well-rounded Grip/Electric Technician to become part of a growing commercial production company in Austin. This isn't a traditional freelance position. It's an opportunity to help build a premium grip and electric rental operation while continuing to freelance on your own terms. We own a fully outfitted Sprinter van package designed primarily for commercial productions, along with feature films, short films, music videos, and corporate productions that works jobs throughout Central Texas. We already have multiple production opportunities each month and are looking for someone who wants to grow alongside the business. What makes this different You'll have the opportunity to: • Work on commercial productions and other shoots we produce throughout the year • Earn additional income by helping coordinate, prep, deliver, or crew rental packages • Participate in the growth of the rental side of the business through a revenue-sharing incentive based on the business you help generate and support • Rent the entire package for your own freelance jobs at a substantially discounted rate while keeping 100% of your own labor/day rate. We don't interfere with your freelance career. We're simply providing access to equipment that helps you land larger jobs. • Help shape the future of the package by providing input on new equipment purchases and workflow improvements. Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who: • Has experience as a Key Grip, Gaffer, Best Boy, or experienced Grip/Electric Technician • Has a clean driving record • Is comfortable driving a Sprinter van or small grip truck • Takes pride in maintaining professional equipment • Has strong relationships within the Austin production community or is actively building them • Is entrepreneurial and interested in growing something long-term instead of simply collecting day rates Bonus Skills Experience with commercial productions Knowledge of modern lighting systems (Lite Gear, Aputure, Creamsource, Litepanels, ARRI, Astera, etc.) Grip rigging experience Trailer or truck packing experience Existing relationships with local production companies, agencies, producers, or DPs
