PRINTED MARKING FOR THE OV SPARK CAMERA Overview AI — design brief Contact: Christine Chacko, Overview AI Website: overview.ai THE ASK We make AI inspection cameras for factories. We are launching a new one, the OV Spark, and we need the Overview logo and the product name printed on the housing. Our manufacturer, Advantech, prints it directly onto the camera. This is not a label. There is no sticker and no background panel. It is artwork printed onto a purple camera body, and we want it to look like it belongs there. THE LOOK WE WANT Pull it from overview.ai. Spend real time on the site before you draw anything, and keep going back to it. That is the visual language we want carried onto the camera. Modern, confident, a company on the way up. Not an industrial nameplate, not a spec sticker, not a serial-number plate. Think about how Apple, Teenage Engineering or Nothing mark a product: the brand and the name, placed with intent, and nothing else fighting for attention. That is the level we are aiming at. WHAT GOES ON THE CAMERA - The Overview AI logo, from the vector file we supply. Do not redraw it. - The product name, OV Spark. That exact string, that capitalisation. - Nothing else. No taglines, no specs, no processor logos, no feature lists. WHAT WE NEED BACK One print-ready vector file we can hand to Advantech, .ai or .svg, at 1:1 scale in millimetres, with the artwork positioned on the surface you have chosen. That is the whole deliverable. Show us two or three directions first, mocked up on the renders in the asset pack. We pick one, you refine it, two rounds of revision, then production artwork. THE CAMERA A STEP file is in the asset pack. Take the exact geometry from it. The numbers below are for orientation only. Overall body 70 x 116 x 53 mm. Confirmed against the STEP file. Side faces roughly 53 x 116 mm. Two of them. The rear part of each is taken by the black heatsink, so the purple area is the front portion. Measure it. Top face roughly 70 x 53 mm. Carries the PWR and LAN indicators and two light-guide windows. Front face 70 x 116 mm. Mostly lens dome and a ribbed lower section. Little usable flat area. Rear face 70 x 116 mm. Black finned heatsink. Not printable. Where the artwork goes is your call. The side faces and the top are the obvious candidates, and the artwork can wrap across an edge if that is the better idea. Tell us why you chose what you chose. Stay clear of the lens dome, the base connectors, the PWR and LAN indicators, the light-guide windows, the screws and the mounting holes. All of it is in the STEP file. One more thing on placement. We have not yet confirmed where the barcode and serial sticker sits on the body. Until we do, leave at least half of one side face clear so the sticker has somewhere to go. We will confirm the real position and size as soon as we have it. THE PURPLE IS NOT WHAT THE RENDERS SHOW The renders are CAD. The real anodised body is a much deeper, redder plum. Design against the photograph in the asset pack, not the renders. The render reads as a bright blue violet at hue 259. The actual camera is a deep plum at hue 294, roughly 35 degrees apart in hue and half the lightness. The real finish is matte, and it sits close enough to our brand purple to clash with it. Ask us for a physical sample before you commit to a colour. BRAND ASSETS Logo logo_H_colored.svg, in the asset pack. Vector, use as supplied. Typeface Inter. Propose something else if it serves the work. Purple, primary #735CFF Secondary purples #532EE3 dark, #A2A0FF light lavender Navy #1A1A2E Website overview.ai HOW IT GETS ONTO THE CAMERA Advantech marks the housing directly. The current plan of record is a laser print, and they have been producing the artwork file themselves. We are taking that over, which is why you are here. Use as many colours and as much shape as the idea needs. Do not design down to a constraint you have guessed at. One thing worth knowing: laser marking on anodised aluminium is a single tone process, so if that is what Advantech ends up running, a full-colour design cannot be made as drawn. We are confirming with them whether a colour process is available. Until that lands, give us the colour version you believe in, plus a one-tone version of the same idea. You do not need to deal with the serial number, the barcode or the regulatory marks. Those already live on a separate sticker. DELIVERABLES - Print-ready vector artwork, .ai or .svg, 1:1 in millimetres, type outlined, plus source files. - A one-tone version of the same design, for the laser print case. - A placement drawing showing where it sits, dimensioned from an edge. - A mockup on the renders we supply, for internal sign-off. Budget, timeline and file ownership are agreed separately. Ask me anything about the hardware. IN THE ASSET PACK cad/ OV_SPARK_V1_PUBLIC.step — the camera. Exact geometry and keep-outs. renders/ four CAD product renders. Use these for your mockups. photography/ a photograph of a real camera, and a side by side against the render. The renders show a brighter, bluer purple than the real anodised body. The photograph is the truth. logo/ the Overview wordmark, vector. Use as supplied, do not redraw.
