Landscape / Outdoor Space Designer for Ongoing Residential Property Projects

I am looking to establish a relationship with a talented residential landscape and outdoor-space designer for a series of projects on an approximately one-acre property in California. This is not one large master-plan assignment that needs to be completed all at once. The property has a number of distinct outdoor areas that I expect to design and improve over time, ranging from substantial landscape projects to smaller, unusual design problems where I mainly need a strong creative eye and practical ideas. The house and property have already undergone a major remodel, and a pool and surrounding landscape project is currently moving into construction. I would now like to find someone whose design taste, problem-solving approach, and working style are a good fit for the next group of projects. Potential projects include: + A large hillside front garden of approximately 1,000 square meters that needs a cohesive planting, pathway, and overall landscape concept + A second landscaped area of approximately 300 square meters + A landscaped pedestrian transition connecting a future carport area to the front lawn and house + A small outdoor dining / gathering area + A larger lower portion of the property that should remain somewhat wild and natural while still feeling intentionally designed + Smaller site-specific outdoor design problems involving landscaping, hardscape, structures, transitions, screening, materials, and visual integration I am particularly interested in someone who is comfortable working at both scales: thinking through the composition and experience of a larger landscape, but also solving smaller design problems creatively without automatically turning every project into a major construction exercise. This is a rural California property with grade changes, mature vegetation, open landscape, and a mix of formal and more natural areas. The goal is not to make the entire acre feel heavily landscaped. I want the designed areas to feel intentional and cohesive while maintaining the character of the property. ==What I’m Looking For== + Strong residential landscape and outdoor-space design instincts + Good spatial thinking, circulation, grading, and material transitions + Strong aesthetic judgment, not simply technical drafting ability + Ability to work from plans, photographs, drone imagery, video, measurements, and remote conversations + Comfort developing early ideas efficiently before investing time in polished drawings or renderings + Practical thinking about budget and buildability + Ability to work within existing conditions rather than assuming everything should be rebuilt Landscape architecture credentials are welcome but not required. Design ability and fit are more important to me than a particular title. ==Working Relationship== I expect to address these projects individually rather than commission a complete property master plan immediately. For some areas I may initially need only concept direction and ideas. Others may progress into more developed plans, material selections, planting plans, visualizations, or construction guidance.
