Legal Counsel, Commercial, Employment & IP (Part-Time/Advisory)

a UK deeptech cleantech startup developing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) intermediates and bio-based chemicals from waste biomass via proprietary fast pyrolysis. We're scaling commercial partnerships and building out our team, and need experienced legal support on a flexible basis. Scope: Contract negotiation and review (NDAs, LOIs, commercial/technical collaboration agreements, supply agreements) Director service agreements Employment contracts; drafting and review for new hires, advisors, and contractors IP support; patent filing strategy and prosecution coordination with external patent attorneys, freedom-to-operate considerations, employee/contractor IP assignment clauses, licensing terms General corporate/commercial support as needed What we're looking for: Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with strong commercial, employment, and IP experience Familiarity with patent-heavy deeptech or hardware/process IP (not just software) preferred Startup/scale-up experience preferred; comfort working with a small, fast-moving team Ability to turn around reviews quickly and flag risk clearly, without unnecessary process overhead Engagement: Part-time/retainer or ad hoc, flexible based on workload. Remote-friendly; based in or familiar with UK law required.
