Legal Researcher / Litigation Paralegal — Oregon Insurance Commission & Agency Dispute Research

We are an insurance agency seeking an experienced U.S. legal researcher, litigation paralegal, or attorney to conduct case and docket research involving insurance-industry commission and compensation disputes. This project is for legal research only. We are not seeking legal advice or legal representation from the researcher. Our primary objective is to identify Oregon attorneys and law firms that have previously represented parties in disputes similar to ours so that we can determine which attorneys may have the most relevant experience for a future legal consultation. Research Areas We would like the researcher to locate Oregon cases and proceedings from approximately the past 10–20 years involving issues such as: -Insurance producer or agent commission disputes -Unpaid renewal or residual commissions -Insurance agency-to-agency commission disputes -Producer-to-producer referral commission disputes -FMO, MGA, IMO, general agency, or brokerage commission disputes -Revenue-sharing or commission-sharing agreements -Continuing commissions following termination of a relationship -Disputes regarding changes to previously agreed commission arrangements -Other similar insurance producer/agency compensation disputes Federal cases involving Oregon parties should also be considered when relevant. Washington or other Pacific Northwest cases may be included secondarily when they identify attorneys with substantial relevant insurance-industry experience. Important Research Requirement We are interested in more than published appellate decisions. Please research court dockets and filed cases, including matters that may subsequently have: -Settled -Been voluntarily dismissed -Been dismissed by the court -Proceeded to judgment -Resulted in a published or unpublished decision One of our primary goals is to identify the attorneys and law firms representing the parties, even when the dispute did not proceed through trial.
