Logo Design Refinement and Modernisation
Worldwide
I have updated the brief so the alternative tree is identified as your owned artwork, while the Canva version is treated as inspiration only. ## Logo Refinement and Modernisation for Premium Wellness Brand ### Project overview I am seeking an experienced logo and brand identity designer to refine and modernise the existing logo for Roll Therapy, a wellness business built around lymphatic massage equipment. This is not a complete rebrand. The objective is to professionally refine the existing logo while preserving its recognisable identity and important brand elements. The primary focus is the typography. The current font needs to be updated so the logo feels more polished, distinctive, balanced and premium. I am open to creative recommendations and would value a designer who can clearly explain the reasoning behind their proposed typography. ### Desired brand direction The refined logo should feel: - Premium and professional - Simple and elegant - Modern without being overly trendy - Strong, balanced and cohesive - Approachable and appropriate for the wellness industry - Clear and legible across digital and printed applications I want the lettering to have a consistent visual weight and thickness across the complete business name. The typography should feel structured and confident without becoming overly heavy, masculine, sporty or collegiate. As a directional reference, I like the strength, consistency and visual impact of the Earls Collection block/varsity-style logo. However, this reference is for general typography direction only. I do not want it copied, and I do not want the Roll Therapy logo to look like a sporting or university brand. The objective is to combine structure, consistency and strength with an elegant, sophisticated wellness aesthetic. ### Tree of Life symbol The Tree of Life inside the letter “O” is an important and recognisable part of the Roll Therapy identity. It must remain a central feature of the refined logo. I would like to compare three different Tree of Life treatments before selecting the final direction. I will provide two existing Tree of Life references: 1. **Current Tree of Life reference:** The detailed tree currently used inside the “O” of the Roll Therapy logo. 2. **Owned Tree of Life reference:** A second, simpler Tree of Life graphic that I own and can provide for use and refinement. For each of the two proposed typography and logo directions, please show the letter “O” using the following three Tree of Life treatments: - **Option A:** An original treatment inspired by the current detailed Tree of Life - **Option B:** A treatment using or refining my owned Tree of Life graphic - **Option C:** A new and original Tree of Life concept developed specifically for Roll Therapy This should result in six structured initial logo variations: - Typography Direction 1 with Tree Options A, B and C - Typography Direction 2 with Tree Options A, B and C The purpose of these variations is to compare how each Tree of Life treatment works with each typography direction. They do not need to be presented as six completely separate brand concepts. The typography, spacing and overall logo structure may remain consistent within each direction while the treatment inside the “O” changes. ### Tree of Life design requirements Each Tree of Life option should: - Fit naturally and clearly inside the letter “O” - Feel visually balanced with the weight and proportions of the typography - Retain a sense of growth, vitality, wellbeing and connection - Remain recognisable at both large and small sizes - Avoid excessive detail that becomes unclear when reduced - Reproduce cleanly in black, white and single-colour applications - Work as part of the complete logo - Work independently as a standalone brand symbol - Be created and supplied as clean vector artwork ### Canva element and originality requirements The current detailed Tree of Life was sourced from a Canva Pro library element titled “Tree Icon,” credited within Canva to Fabian Biese. I will provide a screenshot showing the source of this element. The Canva element should be treated as visual inspiration only. It may be used to understand the density, shape, balance and overall style I currently associate with the Roll Therapy brand. I would like Option A to feel similar to the current detailed tree so that the brand remains recognisable. However, the Canva element must not simply be copied or directly traced and presented as exclusive original artwork. Option A should be an original redraw that retains the visual qualities I like about the current tree while introducing enough original design decisions to create a distinctive Roll Therapy symbol. The second Tree of Life reference is my own graphic. It can be used and refined as part of Option B. Option C should be a new interpretation created specifically for Roll Therapy. The selected final Tree of Life should: - Be original vector artwork created or professionally refined for Roll Therapy - Be suitable for exclusive commercial use - Be supplied inside the complete logo and as a standalone symbol - Be sufficiently distinctive for future trademark assessment - Work effectively across digital, print, signage, merchandise and product applications Please disclose any use of Canva content, stock graphics, templates, generative AI or other third-party materials during the design process. No unlicensed or undisclosed third-party graphics should appear in the final approved logo. ### Scope of work The selected designer will be asked to: 1. Review the existing Roll Therapy logo and all supplied references. 2. Identify opportunities to improve the typography, proportions, spacing, balance and Tree of Life integration. 3. Develop two typography-led logo directions. 4. Apply three Tree of Life treatments to each typography direction. 5. Present six structured initial logo variations. 6. Provide a brief explanation of the design reasoning behind each typography direction and Tree of Life treatment. 7. Recommend the strongest typography and Tree of Life combination. 8. Complete one reasonable revision pass during the initial concept phase. 9. Refine one selected typography and Tree of Life combination. 10. Complete up to two additional revision rounds on the selected direction. 11. Prepare the approved logo as a complete, professionally organised logo package. 12. Supply a simple one-page reference sheet covering colours, typography and basic logo use. ### Initial concept presentation The initial presentation should include: - Two typography-led logo directions - Three Tree of Life treatments applied to each typography direction - Six logo variations in total - Each variation shown clearly in black on a white background - Small-size examples showing whether the “O” and Tree of Life remain legible - A brief explanation of each typography direction - A brief explanation of Tree Options A, B and C - The designer’s recommended typography and tree combination The six variations are intended as structured comparisons, not six independently developed brand identities. ### Required final logo variations The final package should include: - Primary Roll Therapy logo - Alternative horizontal or stacked layout, where appropriate - Standalone Tree of Life symbol - Full-colour version - Single-colour version - Solid black version - Solid white version - Reversed version - Version suitable for light backgrounds - Version suitable for dark backgrounds All variations should be visually consistent and tested for legibility at practical sizes. ### Required final files Please provide clearly labelled and organised folders containing the following files. **Editable vector and source files** - Adobe Illustrator, AI - EPS - SVG - Editable PDF - Typography converted to outlines - Editable typography version where permitted by the font licence **Digital and print exports** - Print-ready PDF - High-resolution PNG - Transparent-background PNG - High-resolution JPG - Web-optimised versions where appropriate **Colour specifications** - CMYK - RGB - HEX - Pantone equivalent, where appropriate Please also provide: - Names of all fonts used - Links or instructions for obtaining the fonts - Details of any font licensing requirements or additional costs - A one-page logo reference sheet showing colours, typography, clear space and recommended minimum size ### Originality and intellectual property The final design must be original and suitable for commercial use. Please do not use: - Unmodified stock logos - Premade logo templates - Copied elements from other brands - Generic AI-generated logo outputs presented as original design - Unlicensed fonts, graphics or other assets - Direct traces of the Canva Tree of Life element Any use of generative AI, stock assets, licensed elements or third-party resources must be disclosed before the final design is approved. Upon final payment, I require full ownership and exclusive commercial usage rights to the original logo artwork created for this project. Any third-party elements that cannot legally be transferred must be identified clearly, along with their applicable licence terms. The final logo should be sufficiently original for future trademark assessment. Formal trademark searches, legal advice and trademark registration are outside the scope of this project. ### Budget and milestones The total fixed-price budget is **US$200**, divided into two milestones. #### Milestone 1: Initial concepts and Tree of Life comparison, US$75 This milestone includes: - Review of the existing logo and supplied references - Two typography-led logo directions - Three Tree of Life treatments applied to each direction - Six structured logo variations in total - Black-on-white presentations - Small-size legibility examples - Brief design reasoning for each direction - The designer’s recommended combination - One reasonable revision pass - Selection of one typography and Tree of Life combination for final development Payment will be released once the agreed concepts and included revision have been delivered in accordance with the project brief. #### Milestone 2: Final refinement and complete logo package, US$125 This milestone includes: - Detailed refinement of the selected typography and Tree of Life combination - Up to two additional revision rounds - Final typography, spacing, proportions and symbol integration - Final vector construction of the selected Tree of Life - Primary logo, alternative layout and standalone symbol - Full-colour, black, white and reversed versions - Light-background and dark-background versions - Complete AI, EPS, SVG, PDF, PNG and JPG file package - CMYK, RGB and HEX colour specifications - Font names and licensing information - One-page logo reference sheet - Disclosure of any third-party or AI-assisted materials - Transfer of the agreed commercial rights upon final payment Only one milestone will be funded and active at a time. Milestone 2 will begin after Milestone 1 has been approved and the selected direction has been agreed. Please only apply if you are comfortable completing the stated scope within the fixed budget. ### Ideal designer The ideal designer will have: - A strong portfolio of professional logo and brand identity work - Excellent typography skills - Experience refining existing logos without unnecessarily replacing their identity - Experience with premium wellness, beauty, health, fitness or lifestyle brands - Strong Adobe Illustrator and vector design skills - Experience creating original symbols and iconography - An understanding of spacing, visual balance and small-size legibility - Clear communication and a reliable revision process - The ability to explain design decisions rather than relying only on personal preference - Careful attention to final file preparation and organisation ### What I will provide I will provide the selected designer with: - The existing Roll Therapy logo - The current Canva Tree of Life reference - A screenshot identifying the Canva element and its creator - My owned alternative Tree of Life artwork - The Earls Collection typography reference - Additional visual references where relevant - Information about the Roll Therapy brand - Examples of where the logo is likely to be used - Clear feedback on the presented concepts ### Application requirements Please include the following in your proposal: 1. Two or three relevant portfolio examples, preferably involving logo refinement, custom typography, symbol design or premium wellness branding. 2. A brief explanation of how you would approach this project. 3. Confirmation that two typography directions will be provided. 4. Confirmation that three Tree of Life treatments will be shown with each typography direction. 5. Confirmation that six structured initial logo variations are included. 6. Confirmation that one initial revision pass and up to two final revision rounds are included. 7. Confirmation that the complete AI, EPS, SVG, PDF, PNG and JPG file package is included. 8. Confirmation that the final Tree of Life will be supplied as a standalone vector symbol. 9. Confirmation that all AI-assisted, stock or licensed elements will be disclosed. 10. Confirmation that the original final artwork and agreed commercial rights will transfer upon final payment. 11. Your estimated turnaround time for each milestone. 12. Details of any information you would need from me before beginning. Please begin your proposal with the words **“Tree of Life”** so I know you have read the complete brief. I am looking for a thoughtful refinement that gives Roll Therapy a stronger, more premium and professional identity while preserving what is already recognisable about the brand.
