Logo Designer for Marine Science & Exploration Research Team

We are a marine science research team looking for a designer to create a distinctive logo for our group. Our work focuses on coral reefs and fishes, particularly the exploration of deeper, poorly known mesophotic (“twilight zone”) reefs around the world. We’re looking for a logo that combines science, ocean exploration, diving, and discovery. We particularly like the aesthetic of modern scientific badge/emblem logos and expedition patches, with simple flat-vector or monoline illustrations, bold typography, and a slightly organic feel. We would like something contemporary and clean, but with personality—more like an exploration or expedition identity than a corporate or institutional logo. Possible visual elements could include reef fishes, a deep reef or reef wall, a technical diver, depth/light gradients, or other imagery suggesting exploration of the ocean’s twilight zone. We have some ideas, but we want the designer to bring their own creativity to the project. The logo will be used on social media, presentations, expedition materials, stickers, shirts, hats, and potentially dive gear, so it should work well both digitally and in print. We are looking for a designer with strong experience in logo design, illustration, and visual identity. Experience with science, nature, diving, outdoor, or exploration-related brands is a plus. The project should include several initial concepts, refinement of the selected direction, and final logo files in full-color and monochrome versions, including vector files.
