Summary

We’re looking for a reliable, fast and sharp long-form video editor to take point on YouTube content. This is an ongoing role, not a one-off project. 1️⃣ What You’ll Edit You’ll work across several long-form formats including: - Talking-heads - Interviews - Scripted pieces - POV content - Mini-documentaries - Cinematic Documentaries - Product reviews - Other relevant long-form formats as needed or suggested Strong visual instincts are especially important. We’ll provide reference clips and examples when there’s a specific style, structure, or format we want matched, so the creative target is clear before you begin. We also value editors who can bring ideas to the table and suggest stronger visual treatments, pacing, formats, or creative approaches when appropriate. 2️⃣ Workflow & Turnaround Footage is typically delivered the same day it’s shot. - Standard turnaround: 3 to 10 days (varies by type of long-form video) - Volume: Building toward roughly 3 to 4 posts per week across multiple channels - Communication: Should be responsive and communicate promptly regarding quick-turn requests and feedback. Edits should arrive polished, captioned where needed, and ready to publish without unnecessary back-and-forth on basic formatting. 3️⃣ Editing Standards Pacing - For talking-head, interview, scripted, or any other sections with spoken audio, remove unnecessary dead air, filler words, awkward pauses, and distracting breaths where doing so improves the flow - For documentaries, POVs, cinematic videos, and other story-driven formats, preserve natural pauses, ambient moments, and breathing when they add realism, emotion, or atmosphere - Keep cuts tight and intentional without making the edit feel unnaturally rushed - Maintain strong momentum and pacing appropriate to the format, tone, and story Framing - For talking-head, interview, and other speaker-led content, keep the speaker’s eye-line and on-screen positioning consistent through cuts - Use punch-ins, reframes, and zooms intentionally, keeping them smooth and anchored to the subject - For documentaries, POVs, cinematic videos, and other visually driven formats, prioritize composition, continuity, and purposeful shot selection over rigid framing consistency - Avoid distracting jumps, awkward crops, or unnecessary movement unless they are intentional to the style or story Audio - Voice should always be clear and dominant - Background music should support the edit without competing with the vocal (-18 to -25db varies depending on the song itself, scene sound, and/or vocals) - Music and sound effects should match the energy, tone, and pacing of the footage Before submitting, every edit should pass two final checks: - Silent playback to catch framing and visual issues - Screen-off audio playback to catch pacing, dialogue, music, and sound issues 4️⃣ What We’re Looking For - Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve (required) - Intermediate to advanced After Effects skills, especially for motion graphics (required) - Proven long-form editing experience, especially YouTube - Strong portfolio recent long-form work - Ability to closely match reference footage in structure, pacing, style, and packaging - Strong storytelling, timing, framing, and visual instincts - Fast and reliable turnaround, including same-day edits when required - Ability to work independently with minimal direction on editing fundamentals - Willingness to suggest creative improvements when you see an opportunity - Proficiency with other Adobe video tools is a plus - 3D graphics or animation experience is a bonus 5️⃣ How to Apply Please send: - A portfolio or reel of recent long-form work - Your typical turnaround time for a standard edit - Your availability and working hours We move quickly. If there’s a fit, we’ll get real footage in your hands for a test edit as soon as possible.
