Long-Term Video Editor for Filmmaker / Content Creator

Long-Term Video Editor | YouTube, BTS, Travel & Short-Form Content I’m a filmmaker, director, and cinematographer looking for a talented video editor to work with me on an ongoing monthly basis as I continue building my personal brand and content platform. I’m looking for more than someone who can simply make cuts. I want to build with an editor who understands storytelling, learns my creative style over time, brings ideas to the table, and can become a consistent part of my creative workflow. THE CONTENT The type of projects will vary and may include: * Long-form YouTube content (typically 8–15 minutes) * Talking-head / storytelling videos * Behind-the-scenes filmmaking content * Travel and documentary-style BTS videos * Cinematic lifestyle and personal-brand content * Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts * Occasional other creative content A typical month may include around 4 long-form videos, with approximately 3 polished short-form clips pulled from each video**. However, I want this role to remain flexible. Some months we may substitute a long-form video for a travel BTS piece, filmmaking BTS video, or another creative project depending on what I’m working on. Larger projects such as full documentaries, films, commercials, or significantly more complex edits would be discussed and budgeted separately. EDITING STYLE I’m a filmmaker, so quality and storytelling are extremely important to me. I’m looking for editing that feels cinematic, clean, intentional, modern, and story-driven. I don't want everything to feel like generic social-media content or be overly edited just for the sake of keeping attention. The editor should understand pacing, emotion, music, sound design, and when to let a moment breathe. Short-form content should still be engaging, with strong openings, clean captions, good pacing, and thoughtful selections from the longer videos. WHAT I NEED FROM YOU You should be comfortable with: * Long-form storytelling and pacing * Short-form vertical editing * Finding strong moments within longer footage * Multicam editing when needed * Audio cleanup and leveling * Basic color correction/grading * Music selection and sound design * Clean captions and simple motion graphics * Organizing footage and project files * Taking creative direction and feedback * Bringing your own creative ideas to an edit Most importantly, I want someone who can eventually understand my style well enough to recognize great moments without me having to point out every single clip. LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIP This is intended to be an ongoing monthly position, not a one-time project. The starting budget is $300/month, with the opportunity for the role, workload, and budget to grow as the content grows.
