Long-Term Virtual Assistant — Magazine Publishing, Social Media & Marketing

Part-Time | Approximately 10 Hours Per Week | Long-Term Opportunity I am launching a new national magazine and homeowner advocacy organization in the United States, with the potential to serve approximately 80 million Americans who live in HOAs and other common-interest communities. I am looking for one exceptional person who wants to be part of the project long-term. This is not a one-time freelance assignment. I want to find someone I can train, trust, and gradually give increasing responsibility as the magazine and organization grow. WHAT YOU WILL HELP WITH The work will be varied and may include magazine production and layout, social media, graphics, marketing, websites, videos, subscriber management, spreadsheets, contributor communications, and general digital publishing. Some of the tools we currently use include: Affinity Publisher — magazine layout and production Canva — graphics and promotional materials HeyGen — AI-assisted videos Microsoft Excel Hostinger — websites Stripe — payments and subscriptions Papermark — digital publication distribution and analytics Social media platforms Email and online marketing AI tools, including ChatGPT You do not need experience with every program. If you are highly capable with several of them and can learn the others quickly, I am interested in hearing from you. THE PERSON I AM LOOKING FOR Technical skills matter, but so do initiative and judgment. I want someone who can eventually understand what we are trying to accomplish, recognize what needs to be done, suggest improvements, and take responsibility for completing tasks. Strong written English is important because you may communicate with writers, advocates, homeowners, and other contributors throughout the United States. Experience in publishing, graphic design, social media, digital marketing, website development, video production, or virtual assistant work would be valuable. Most importantly, I am looking for someone dependable, organized, creative, comfortable with technology, eager to learn, and interested in growing with a startup. ABOUT THE PROJECT Our first major project is a new national digital magazine focused on homeowners and homeowner associations. The larger objective is to build a national information, education, publishing, and advocacy organization that helps homeowners improve their communities. You will be joining at the beginning. As the organization develops, I would like the person selected for this position to become increasingly important to its operation. HOURS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIP Initially, I expect approximately 10 hours per week. The work can be performed remotely. Because I am in California, we will need to establish regular times to communicate despite the time zone difference. I care more about reliability, communication, quality, and getting the work done than about someone being online every minute I am working. This is intended to become a long-term working relationship, with the possibility of additional hours and greater responsibility as the organization grows.
