Long-Term Voice Narrator for Animated History YouTube Channel (Ongoing | 12 - 16 Videos/Month)
Worldwide
We are looking for a professional voice actor to become the signature narrator for a fast-growing animated history YouTube channel. This is not a one-time gig — we are seeking a long-term creative partner for an ongoing collaboration for well over a year. Our content covers dramatic, research-driven historical stories — spies, escapes, wars, heists, and forgotten heroes — brought to life through custom animation. Think along the lines of channels like Kings and Generals, Voices of the Past, or ago. on YouTube. The Workload • Frequency: 3-4 videos per week (~12-16 videos per month) • Script Length: ~4,500–7,500 words per episode • Final Audio Length: ~30–50 minutes per video • Format: Voice-over narration only (no music, no editing required from your end) You will receive a completed, ready-to-record script and deliver clean narration audio back to our team. Narration Style We need a voice that can make history feel cinematic and urgent — not academic. The delivery should pull the listener in from the first sentence and hold tension throughout. Channel references: • Voices of the Past (YouTube) • ago. (YouTube) • National Geographic / History Channel documentary style The sweet spot is: calm, commanding, and gripping — like you're telling the most intense story someone has ever heard, but with total control. Requirements • Broadcast-quality microphone and recording setup • Clean audio with minimal background noise and no reverb • Consistent audio quality across all episodes (same mic, same room, same tone) • Reliable enough to meet the required schedule • Ability to naturally convey pacing, tension, and dramatic weight • A genuine interest in history is a strong plus Deliverables Per Episode • One fully narrated audio file • Clean WAV or high-quality MP3 • Minor retakes if small script edits are needed (within 24 hours) Compensation We offer a fixed flat rate for this ongoing collaboration, calculated by whichever method works best for you • $1.50 per finished minute of narration • $1.00 per 100 words of script For a typical milestone (~30–50 minutes), this works out to approximately $45–75 per episode. This is a high-volume, long-term engagement (12-16 videos/month), meaning consistent and predictable monthly income. We are looking for narrators who are comfortable with this rate and are motivated by stable, recurring work rather than one-off projects. Please do not apply if this rate does not work for you — we want a partner who is happy with the arrangement from day one. What We're Building Your voice will be the identity of this channel. We're not looking for someone to fill a slot — we want a narrator who becomes as recognizable to our audience as the animation itself. If you love history, cinematic storytelling, and want to be part of a growing creative project, we'd love to hear from you.
