Maine-Licensed Construction Attorney Needed for Contract Review and Dispute Response We are seeking an experienced construction attorney who is actively licensed to practice law in Maine. This attorney will serve as backup legal counsel for our company and assist with an existing construction-related matter. The immediate assignment involves reviewing relevant contracts, correspondence, invoices, and supporting documentation and preparing a formal response concerning a construction or subcontractor dispute. Depending on experience and availability, this may develop into an ongoing relationship for future construction contracts, disputes, and related legal matters. Responsibilities: - Review construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, change orders, invoices, correspondence, and supporting records. - Assess our contractual position under Maine law. - Prepare or revise a formal legal response to the opposing party or their attorney. - Identify potential contractual violations, liabilities, defenses, and areas of exposure. - Advise us regarding practical next steps and possible resolution strategies. - Draft or review future construction-related agreements as needed. Required Qualifications: - Active license to practice law in Maine. - Meaningful experience in construction law and contract disputes. - Experience representing contractors, subcontractors, developers, property owners, or construction-related businesses. - Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and legal-writing skills. - Ability to review documents promptly and communicate recommendations clearly. - Availability to begin soon. Please include the following in your proposal: - Confirmation that you are actively licensed to practice law in Maine. - Your Maine Bar number and current standing. - A brief description of your construction-law experience. - Examples of similar construction or subcontractor disputes you have handled, without disclosing confidential information. - Your hourly rate or proposed fee structure. - Your availability to begin and estimated turnaround time for an initial document review. All candidates will be required to complete a conflict-of-interest check before receiving confidential case materials.
