Male Voice Actor — Dark Fantasy Indie Game — British Accent Preferred

We are Ashen Depths, a small indie studio developing Ashen Swarm, a 2D dark fantasy roguelite coming to Steam in late 2026. We are casting a human voice actor (no AI-generated or synthetic voices) for a key character: The Architect. THE ROLE Male voice, vocal age roughly 45–60. Low to mid-low register. Calm, intelligent, dry, slightly weary. The Architect is not an epic narrator, wizard, or booming fantasy elder. He sounds like an old craftsman who survived the end of the world and has been sitting beside the same mystery for far too long. His delivery is restrained and natural, with subtle warmth underneath. He has explained some of these things many times before, so he rarely sounds surprised or dramatic. Some lines contain dark, morbid humor. Deliver it completely deadpan. He is not joking for effect — this is simply how he talks after everything he has seen. Accent: Natural British preferred. A light neutral European accent can also work if the performance fits. Avoid: theatrical delivery, booming narrator voice, exaggerated rasp, "ancient wizard" acting. Key direction: He is not trying to sound mysterious. He is simply tired. SCOPE Approximately 500–700 words total, consisting of short dialogue scenes and 40–50 short in-game lines. Final script provided on hire. Additional lines are likely as development continues and will be paid separately. Your recordings will never be used for AI voice training, voice cloning, synthesis, or the creation of a synthetic voice model. HOW TO APPLY Start your proposal with the word ASH so we know you read the brief. Please include 1–2 relevant character/voice demos and record the three audition lines below.
