Mechanical CAD Engineer / Design Partner Wanted (White-Label, Ongoing Work)

We are a German engineering service provider. We handle the client relationship, quality review and final release. You handle the design and drafting work. We are looking for a long-term partner — freelancer or agency — not a one-off job. What we provide • Clear technical briefs, specifications and reference drawings • Our drawing templates, title blocks and naming conventions • Defined scope per project: components, assemblies, deliverables • Steady project flow once quality is proven What you deliver • 3D modelling of components and assemblies • 2D drawing derivation with full dimensioning • Parts lists / BOM • Variant design based on existing models • Native files plus STEP export • Reliable turnaround on agreed deadlines Software • SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor (state which you use) • Own commercial licence required — proof needed. Student, trial or unlicensed versions are not acceptable. • State the exact version you work with. Our clients often run older releases and must be able to open the files. Critical requirement — please read carefully Our clients are German machine builders. Drawings must comply with German and European standards, not ASME: • Dimensioning and tolerancing per DIN ISO 286 and ISO 2768 • Geometric tolerancing per ISO 1101 • Welding symbols per ISO 2553 • Surface finish per ISO 1302 • Metric only If you have never worked to these standards, say so openly. We would rather train the right partner than correct drawings on every delivery. Experience with German-speaking clients Have you worked for German, Austrian or Swiss clients before? If yes, name the type of company (machine builder, plant engineering, tooling, automotive supplier) and for how long. This is not a hard requirement — it tells us how much guidance to expect in the first projects. Please send: one full manufacturing drawing as PDF (zoomable), one assembly with parts list, one native file, and the original brief for one of them. Data handling • Client data must be stored securely and deleted after project completion on request • No third-party subcontracting without our prior written approval • Please state where data would be stored and who would have access Rights and rework • All rights to the delivered files transfer to us. Work may not be used as your own reference or portfolio material without written permission. • Rework due to deviation from our standards or briefs is corrected at no additional cost. Please include in your proposal • Team size, current availability and how many hours per month you can reliably deliver • How you handle absence, holidays or peak load • Your proposed rate — hourly, or per project if you prefer • Typical turnaround for a mid-size assembly (roughly 200 hours of work) • Two reference drawings you produced, ideally to DIN or ISO standards • One before/after example: a project where you received an incomplete or unclear brief. Show the input you were given and the final drawing. We want to see how you handle gaps, not only polished work. • Experience with German-speaking clients: yes or no, and if yes, which industries • Software and exact versions you work with • Where client data would be stored Do not send generic proposals.
