Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering Consultant

EV Bots is developing next‑generation autonomous EV‑charging robots, drone/eVTOL landing‑and‑charging platforms, and multi‑sensor inspection systems. We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Consultant who can critically evaluate our mechanical and electrical designs, perform rigorous engineering analysis, and propose improvements that make our systems functionally superior, aesthetically refined, and commercially scalable. This consultant will serve as a high‑level technical reviewer—bringing world‑class engineering judgment, design sensitivity, and manufacturing awareness to help elevate EV Bots’ product line. Key Responsibilities 1. Design Review & Critical Evaluation Conduct deep technical reviews of mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic subsystems. Identify structural, thermal, electrical, and reliability risks early in the design cycle. Challenge assumptions, highlight design flaws, and propose corrective pathways. Evaluate manufacturability, serviceability, and long‑term durability. 2. Engineering Analysis & Validation Perform analytical assessments including: Structural/FEA reasoning Motion/kinematic analysis Thermal and environmental load evaluation Electrical load, power distribution, and safety analysis Validate design choices against industry standards, field conditions, and EV Bots’ operational requirements. 3. Aesthetic & Industrial Design Enhancement Recommend improvements that make the robot visually compelling, modern, and brand‑consistent. Ensure form and function complement each other—clean lines, purposeful geometry, intuitive interfaces. Collaborate with industrial designers to refine enclosures, surfaces, proportions, and user‑facing elements. 4. Functional Optimization & System Integration Improve mechanical‑electrical integration for robustness and simplicity. Optimize wiring harness routing, sensor placement, actuator selection, and thermal management. Ensure designs support autonomy, perception, and cloud orchestration requirements. 5. Concept Development & Design Strategy Propose new design concepts, mechanisms, and architectures that elevate product performance. Develop structured improvement plans with timelines, risk assessments, and implementation steps. Provide guidance on transitioning prototypes into manufacturable, scalable products. 6. Manufacturing & Vendor Alignment Review DFM/DFA considerations and recommend cost‑effective fabrication approaches. Evaluate vendor capabilities and ensure designs align with realistic production constraints. Support EV Bots’ manufacturing expansion plans, including outsourced fabrication. 7. Documentation & Communication Deliver clear design review reports, annotated CAD feedback, and engineering memos. Communicate findings to leadership and engineering teams with precision and clarity. Provide ongoing advisory support during design iterations and prototype builds. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering. 8+ years of experience in robotics, automation, EV systems, aerospace, or industrial machinery. Strong proficiency in CAD interpretation, engineering analysis, and system‑level design thinking. Demonstrated ability to elevate products aesthetically and functionally. Experience with DFM/DFA, prototyping, and production‑grade design. Excellent communication and critical‑review skills. Engagement Model Part‑time consulting or project‑based engagement. Remote with periodic on‑site collaboration at EV Bots’ facilities. Deliverables include design review reports, improvement plans, and advisory sessions.
