Mechanical Engineer + CAD + Product Development

We are looking for an experienced Product Design Engineer / Mechanical CAD Designer to assist with creating professional, engineering-style technical drawings for our range of bathroom and kitchen products. Our products include basins, sinks, toilets, tapware, showers, vanities, accessories and other bathroom products. This will be an ongoing role for the right person, with a number of products requiring drawings and further products being added regularly. What You'll Be Doing You will be provided with product information such as: Measurements and dimensions Existing supplier drawings Sketches and mark-ups Product specifications Existing CAD files where available Samples or reference products where required You will use this information to create accurate, professional technical/engineering drawings suitable for product development, manufacturing, suppliers and internal product documentation. Drawings may include: Front, side, rear and top views Section views Detailed component drawings Accurate dimensions Hole positions and sizes Radis and angles Thread sizes and connection details Material specifications Tolerances where required Assembly details Product/component call-outs Professional title blocks Revision information Important – Small & Highly Detailed Products Some of the products and components we require drawings for are very small and highly detailed. The successful applicant must have excellent attention to detail and be comfortable producing accurate drawings of small components, fittings and intricate parts, where precise measurements, hole locations, threads, radii and small design features are important. We are looking for someone who understands that these drawings need to be technically accurate, not simply visually appealing. Software Experience with professional CAD software such as: AutoCAD SolidWorks Fusion 360 Autodesk Inventor Rhino Or similar professional CAD software Deliverables For each product, we may require: Professional PDF technical drawing Editable CAD file (DWG/DXF or equivalent) 3D CAD model where required Revised drawings following feedback What We're Looking For The ideal person will: Have experience in mechanical CAD, product design or engineering drafting Have strong technical drawing skills Understand manufacturing and engineering principles Have excellent attention to detail Be able to work accurately with small and intricate components Be able to interpret photographs, measurements and sketches Understand dimensions, tolerances, radii, threads and manufacturing requirements Be comfortable making revisions based on feedback Communicate clearly and meet agreed deadlines Be able to work independently with minimal supervision Experience with any of the following would be highly regarded: Bathroom products Kitchen products Tapware Sanitaryware Ceramics Metal products Plumbing products Hardware Consumer products Manufactured products Experience in bathroom or kitchen products is not essential, provided you have strong mechanical/product CAD experience. Portfolio Required Please provide examples of technical/engineering drawings you have previously completed.
