Job Description: The Medical Scribe will work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to accurately document patient encounters in real-time. The primary responsibility of the Medical Scribe is to capture detailed information about patient histories, physical examinations, procedures, and treatment plans during clinical visits. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Accurately document patient encounters in electronic health records (EHR) or medical charting systems in real-time. 2. Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments by recording relevant information, including patient histories, chief complaints, and vital signs. 3. Maintain thorough and organized medical records by entering data in a timely manner and ensuring accuracy and completeness. 4. Collaborate with healthcare providers to review and update patient charts, including documenting follow-up instructions, lab results, and medication changes. 5. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to clarify information and ensure accurate documentation. 6. Adhere to all privacy and confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA guidelines, when handling patient information and medical records. 7. Provide administrative support as needed, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and assisting with patient inquiries. 8. Participate in training sessions and continuing education programs to stay updated on medical terminology, procedures, and documentation requirements. 9. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and healthcare providers. 10. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the clinic or medical practice. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred (e.g., Biology, Pre-Med, Health Sciences). - Previous experience as a Medical Scribe or in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. - Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. - Excellent typing skills and proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems or medical charting software. - Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and other team members. - Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. - Willingness to undergo training and continuing education to enhance job skills and knowledge.
