Meta Ads Tracking Architect

Summary

We’re a Meta ads agency for outdoor living contractors. We run ~20 active accounts on GoHighLevel + Cometly + Meta/Google. Our constraint: tracking & attribution are broken. Cometly, GHL, and client numbers don’t match, so we can’t trust cost per sale or ROAS to make real decisions. We want a tracking architect + teacher who will work live on Zoom, say “click here, here’s why,” while we drive. We’ll record every session and turn it into SOPs for our team. Think: you build the system with us and leave us smarter, not dependent. Project Phases & Milestones Phase 0 – Paid Test (Audit & Quick Fix) Milestone 0 – Fixed price: $150–$300 60–90 minute Zoom where you: Inspect 1 internal Google Ads campaign. Identify obvious tracking issues (conversions, tags, GHL/Cometly mismatches). Make at least one meaningful fix live. Deliverables: Recording 1‑page gap list Your concrete plan for Phases 1–4. If this is strong, we continue. If not, we stop here. Phase 1 – Get Our 2 Internal Google Campaigns Working Milestone 1 – Hourly (target 2–3 hrs) On Zoom (we share screen, you direct): Validate account linking (Google Ads, GA4 if used, GHL, Cometly). Clean up conversion actions (no junk events). Standardize UTMs for future campaigns. Deliverable: short checklist “How we set up any Google campaign at our agency.” Phase 2 – Map Stack & Document Gaps Milestone 2 – Hourly (target 2–3 hrs) Map Meta/Google → funnels → GHL → Cometly → reporting. Identify exactly where leads, opportunities, and closed‑won fall out. Deliverables: Simple diagram (Miro / Google Drawing) Gap list: Must fix now / Later. Phase 3 – Design Our Standard Tracking Schema Milestone 3 – Hourly (target 2 hrs) Define standard events: Lead, Booked Call, No Show, Opportunity, Closed Won (with value). Define required fields (source, campaign, ad, pipeline, etc.). Deliverables: Schema doc ClickUp template for new clients (events, fields, naming). (We’re following a checklist approach so the “machine” can be run by the team later. [$100M Playbook Marketing Machine, Page 9] ) Phase 4 – Wire GHL ⇄ Cometly ⇄ Meta/Google Milestone 4 – Hourly (target 6–10 hrs) On Zoom + some async: Connect GHL opportunities / pipelines to Cometly, mapped to schema. Configure CAPI / offline conversions to Meta & Google from Cometly or GHL. Implement and QA using our 2 internal campaigns + at least 1 client. Deliverables: Working setup (we see leads, opportunities, and closed‑won with value in Cometly and back in ad platforms). QA checklist: “How to test a new tracking setup in 30 minutes.” Phase 5 – Relaunch / Optimize the 2 Internal Google Campaigns Milestone 5 – Hourly (target 3–5 hrs) Shift Google bidding to the right outcome (Booked Call or Opportunity). Adjust structure / bids based on your experience. Write a simple “weekly optimization routine” our media buyer can follow. Project Budget & Rate Engagement: Hourly with a capped budget per milestone. Target rate: $50–100/hr depending on proof of experience. Expected hours for Phases 1–5: 15–25 hrs total. Who Should Apply You must: Have real examples wiring GoHighLevel + Cometly/Hyros (or similar) + Meta/Google with offline conversions. Be willing to work live on Zoom regularly while we control the mouse. Be able to explain what you’re doing in plain English. Screening Questions (copy into Upwork) Send a Loom (or screenshots) of your best GHL + attribution + Meta/Google tracking setup. Walk through how offline conversions are sent back. Briefly describe a time when reported revenue in your attribution tool didn’t match the client’s CRM/P&L. How did you debug it? What hourly rate would you charge for this, and how many hours do you estimate for Phases 1–4? Are you comfortable doing all implementation live on Zoom (we click, you direct) and documenting as you go?
