Migrate Replit Nonprofit Portal (Member Dashboard + Public Site) to Production-Grade Platform
Worldwide
Project Overview The platform ("The Commons") serves nonprofit grantees of a DC government capacity-building program. A working prototype of both the public site and member portal already exists on Replit and is available to review — this is a migration/rebuild engagement, not a from-scratch build, so applicants should factor that into their estimates and approach. It consists of two connected pieces: 1. A public marketing/content website — program info, event listings with registration, a training library preview, an alumni/community directory, and a "Request Access" flow for prospective members. 2. A gated member portal — the core application, including: - Personalized dashboard - Technical Assistance ticketing system (requests, threaded replies, file uploads, expert assignment) - Learning Series (live session registration + on-demand training library) - CapacityIQ — a proprietary organizational assessment tool with scoring logic, historical results, and PDF report generation - Tools & Resources library (searchable/filterable downloads) - Gamified progress tracking (badges, module completion, certificates) - Leadership Commons — role-based discussion "lanes" with access control - Community discussion board with tagging and moderation - An admin backend to manage users, content, and permissions across all of the above The public site and member portal need to share data (e.g., event listings, training library, spotlights) rather than duplicate it, so we're looking for someone who can architect this as one cohesive system, not two separate builds. Scope of Work -Assess the current Replit build and recommend the right target platform/stack -Migrate/rebuild both the public site and member portal -Design and implement a proper database schema (users, roles, events, tickets, assessments, badges, etc.) -Build role-based access control (member, admin, and lane-based permissions) -Implement a simple "Request Access" flow with manual/human admin approval (no automated eligibility logic needed) -Set up a CMS or admin tools so non-technical staff can manage news, events, and spotlights without a developer -Handle file uploads/storage, PDF generation (assessment reports/certificates), and email notifications -Deploy to production hosting with proper CI/CD, backups, and security practices
