TV, Mobile & Web Developer – Build Native CTV & Mobile Apps (Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, Google TV, iOS/Android) & Maestro.io Web Portal for Podvision TV Job Type: Fixed-Price Project Category: Mobile & TV App Development / Web Development Project Budget: $10,000 Hard-Cap (Phased Delivery) --- CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: CUSTOM NATIVE CODE ONLY (SDKs & APIs ARE FULLY PERMITTED) We require 100% custom-built native source code ownership. We will NOT accept white-label SaaS template platforms, app rental subscription boxes, or locked-down proprietary engines where we do not own the source code. Note on Technology: Using standard platform SDKs, native player frameworks, and direct API integrations (such as Maestro.io, Bunny.net, Google Ad Manager, and VideoElephant) is fully expected and required. Everything must be custom-coded, built natively, and delivered directly to our private GitHub repository. --- Project Overview We are seeking an experienced TV, Mobile & Web Developer to build, configure, and launch streaming apps across Web, Mobile, and Connected TV (CTV) platforms for Podvision TV, a podcast variety network. All TV and Mobile applications must be built natively using each platform's official SDKs and UI component frameworks to ensure responsive navigation, instant video playback, and stability across mobile and TV hardware. Design & Asset Workflow Note: We are currently finalizing our beta UI concepts and graphic layouts with our designer. You will receive these design assets progressively as they are completed, but you can immediately begin building the core structural shell, API connections, and playback logic. --- Project Scope & Milestone Architecture ($10,000 Total Budget Cap) The project is structured under a $10,000 total hard cap divided into specific project milestones. Applicants must review these required milestones and outline their proposed cost breakdown for each in their proposal: Phase 1: Core Launch & Setup • Milestone 1: Maestro Web Portal & Feed Setup & Testing • Deliverables & Testing: Web portal styled and fully tested across browsers; domain linked (`Podvision.tv`); Bunny.net token security verified against hotlinking; seed content loaded with captions and TV Content Ratings metadata; live chat & moderation tested; social sign-up (Google, Facebook, Apple) fully authenticated and tested. • Milestone 2: Roku CTV & Native Mobile Apps Build & Testing • Deliverables & Testing: Core layout built natively using official platform SDKs for Roku (BrightScript / SceneGraph with native RAF SDK) and Mobile (iOS & Android Native), featuring high-contrast D-pad focus states, skeleton image loaders with WebP/HEIC caching, and PiP support. Rigorous device testing performed and verified for layout stability, responsive D-pad navigation, and seamless API/Maestro feed synchronization. • Milestone 3: Ad Server, Subtitle & Analytics Integration & Testing • Deliverables & Testing: GAM / VideoElephant VAST tags connected to native player logic with 3-second timeouts, ad-blocker failovers, and seamless ad-pod transition handoffs. Full functionality testing executed for split-screen layouts, lower-third banners, subtitles, push notifications, TV activation code pairing, "Continue Watching" sync, Universal Deep Links (Branch.io/AppsFlyer), ABR streaming, TV sleep/resume auto-token refresh, live stream error fallback overlay, and Crashlytics analytics. Phase 2: Private Beta, Living Room Expansion & Store Launch • Milestone 4: Living Room Expansion (Apple TV, Fire TV & Google TV) & Testing • Deliverables & Testing: Porting the established architecture natively to Apple TV (tvOS), Amazon Fire TV, and Google TV / Android TV using native Swift/SwiftUI and Android Leanback SDKs. Comprehensive unit, hardware, and performance testing completed across all three living room operating systems. • Milestone 5: Private Beta Testing & Store Publishing • Deliverables & Testing: End-to-end beta testing via TestFlight, Roku Private Channel, Amazon Sandbox, and Google Internal Testing with full client QA sign-off. Final pre-submission compliance audit, code-signing verification, and successful store submission/approval across all 6 app stores under Client-owned accounts, with 100% of source code pushed to the client's private GitHub repository. --- Contract Terms, Maintenance & Safeguards • Milestone Compensation Rule: Funds for each milestone remain held in Upwork Escrow and will ONLY be released upon client review, verification, and explicit written sign-off of deliverables for that specific milestone. No upfront payments or partial releases without complete deliverable sign-off. • Code & Account Ownership: All source code must be pushed directly to the client's Private GitHub Repository. Client retains 100% IP ownership. All SDKs, APIs, and store developer accounts must be set up directly under Client-owned credentials. • Direct API Integration / No White-Label SaaS: All apps must communicate directly via standard SDKs and APIs with Maestro.io, GAM, VideoElephant, and Bunny.net. Apps must NOT route traffic through developer-owned middleman servers or proprietary third-party rental backends. • Testing Requirement: Rigorous testing and client sign-off on deliverables are mandatory at every single milestone before escrow release or progression to the next phase. • Confidentiality & NDA: Applicants must be willing to sign a mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before viewing proprietary platform assets, UI specs, or backend credentials. All work product and IP rights transfer completely to the Client upon milestone approval. • Post-Launch Warranty & Bug Fixes: 90 days of full bug-fix coverage included at no additional cost post-launch. Any errors, crashes, broken API integrations, or failures to meet the requirements explicitly outlined in this scope will be fixed by the developer immediately at zero additional cost. --- Screening Questions (Please complete Q&A before proposal submission) 1. Roku & SceneGraph Architecture: How do you handle dynamic grid rendering, RAF SDK ad stitching, and focus management in Roku BrightScript/SceneGraph when parsing a REST/JSON feed from Maestro without causing memory leaks or remote lag? 2. VAST Ad Pod Buffering: How do you handle VAST 3.0/4.0 ad tags in native video players (AVPlayer for Apple, ExoPlayer/Media3 for Android) to prevent black screens or audio desync when switching between the show stream and commercial pods? 3. Cross-Platform State Sync: What backend or API pattern will you use to track and persist playhead timestamps ("Continue Watching" progress) across Web, iOS, Android, and CTV apps for the same user session? 4. Bunny.net Token Security: How will you implement dynamic URL signing for Bunny.net stream links so media files cannot be scraped or hotlinked outside our official apps? 5. Portfolio and Pricing: Can you link 2 live native CTV apps you built, confirm custom code, and list your milestone pricing? --- Thank you for your interest and for your thoughtful submissions. We look forward to reviewing your proposals. Sincerely, The Podvision TV Team ---
