Mobile Developer Kotlin Multiplatform | AI Career Agent App (Design + Build + Launch)
Worldwide
About Purpose Purpose is an AI-powered career agent for job seekers. Candidates upload their CV once, and an autonomous agent matches them to relevant roles, applies automatically, writes personalized cover letters, monitors their inbox for responses, and schedules interviews — all with minimal manual effort. Premium subscription product (€19.99–€149.99/month across three tiers). The mobile app is built as a Kotlin Multiplatform project targeting Android and iOS from a single codebase. The full app is designed in Figma (all screens, flows, and states). Backend API is fully documented (OpenAPI/Swagger). We need an experienced KMP developer who can also exercise real design judgment — translating Figma into a genuinely premium, polished product, not just a literal pixel-for-pixel build — and take the app all the way to App Store and Google Play publication. A NOTE ON WHAT MATTERS MOST: this app needs to feel alive and expensive in the hand, not just functionally correct. Micro-animations, transitions, and visual coherence across every screen are not a "nice to have" polish pass at the end — they are core to the product experience and a major factor in how we'll evaluate the work. Button presses, screen transitions, loading states, status changes — every one of these is an opportunity to make the app feel premium or cheap, and we're specifically looking for someone who cares about getting that right, not someone who ships the literal Figma frames and calls it done. Tech Stack Kotlin 2.0, Kotlin Multiplatform, Jetpack Compose / Compose Multiplatform, Ktor Client, SQLDelight, Koin, Firebase Auth + FCM, Navigation Compose, Kotlin Coroutines + Flow, Clean Architecture + MVVM. What needs to be done Full technical specifications, API documentation, and Figma designs will be provided upfront. In summary: - Full backend integration — connect all screens to the live REST API (auth, CV upload, matching, applications, preferences, documents, subscription/billing status, inbox connection status). - Authentication & SSO — Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In on both platforms, email/password fallback, token management and refresh logic, email verification and password reset via deep links (email-code based, not just current-password). - Onboarding flow — tier selection, registration, email verification, web handoff to Stripe Checkout for payment (IMPORTANT: no in-app purchase — payment happens via browser handoff, following the Spotify/Netflix compliance model, to avoid Apple/Google's platform fee), CV upload, mandatory profile questions, preferences, matching results with loading sequence. - Core app — dashboard with application slots (10 parallel slots, tier-based monthly limits), application detail screens with status timeline and withdraw functionality, document vault (CV + supporting documents, default/auto-attach logic), full profile/settings screen (personal info, career details, subscription management via Stripe portal handoff, ambient background theme picker, inbox connection management). - Tier-specific functionality — Inbox Sync connection flow (Gmail/Outlook OAuth), Automated Interview Scheduling display, and a dedicated Autonomous Mode screen for our top tier (match threshold slider, company blacklist, pause controls, weekly application overview) — this is a premium, flagship feature and should feel accordingly polished. - Cancellation/retention flow — subscription overview, offboarding flow with a retention offer screen, full cancellation confirmation. - Push notifications — FCM integration for interview invitations, application status changes, subscription/billing issues, new matches, and more. Firebase already configured. - Splash screen — this is a critical, high-visibility brand moment and needs real craftsmanship, not a generic logo-fade. Full animation concept will be provided; expect to implement custom Compose animations (not just Lottie playback) to get the motion feeling right. - Micro-interactions & motion, throughout — a written motion/interaction guidelines document will be provided (transition timing, easing curves, button press states, haptic feedback patterns, loading/skeleton states, status-change animations). We expect these to be implemented consistently across the entire app, not just on a few showcase screens. This is one of the most important parts of this job. - Error & empty states — a full set of these are designed (toast/bottom-sheet/full-screen based on severity) and need proper implementation, not afterthoughts. - Design finalization — the Figma file is complete but needs a developer with real design sensibility to execute the final details correctly: liquid-glass/glassmorphism surfaces, gradient treatments, and consistent visual rhythm across all ~20 screens — the bar is premium consumer apps (think Linear, Raycast, Arc-level polish), not a typical template-feeling app. - App Store & Google Play submission — you will own getting the app through both review processes and published, including store listing assets, compliance with the no-IAP payment model, and handling any review feedback. What we provide - Full technical specification for every work package - Complete API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger) - Complete Figma file with all screens, flows, error/empty states, and a written motion/interaction guidelines document - GitHub repository access - Weekly syncs + async communication What we're looking for - Strong Kotlin Multiplatform experience — non-negotiable - Genuine design sensibility and a track record of shipping apps that feel polished, not just functional — you should be able to look at a Figma frame and know how to make it feel premium and alive in actual code, not just replicate it literally - Comfort implementing custom motion/animation in Compose, not just default component behavior - Experience with Firebase Auth and push notifications - Prior experience publishing apps to both the App Store and Google Play - Reliable, communicative, able to work independently - Please include examples of previous KMP projects AND, ideally, a short video/screen-recording of an app you built where animation and micro-interactions were part of what made it feel good to use Engagement Milestone-based, budget up to $1,500.
