Summary

Website showreel videos: blend client promo footage with polished website capture animation (ongoing series) I run a UK web development studio and I'm looking for a motion designer and video editor to create a series of short showreel videos for my portfolio case studies, starting with one pilot video and rolling out to around seven in total if the first one lands. THE CONCEPT Each video promotes one client project I've built a website for, and it's made from two separate sources. The first is the client's own promotional footage: professionally shot video about their business (a heritage tramway museum, a holiday park, boat trips, a furniture maker). These films are about the business itself and don't show the website at all. The second is website captures created by you: stills, close-ups and moving shots of the website I built for that client. Your job is to cut these two unrelated sources into one engaging, cohesive film. The client's world gives the video its life and atmosphere, the website captures show what I built for them, and the edit ties them together through rhythm, pacing, movement and colour so it feels like one deliberate piece rather than a screen recording stapled to a promo video. The finished loops sit on my portfolio as the first impression of each project. CAPTURING THE WEBSITES This part is your job, and it's a craft in itself. I will give you the live website links and you create your own capture assets from them. I do not want a set of full-screen screenshots panned across. What I'm after is the way the top studios shoot their own work: - Close-ups of individual components: a navigation, a card, a button, a form, a review block - Full rows and sections captured as compositions in their own right - Smooth scrolling and moving captures of the pages in action, including hover states and the sites' built-in animations - Device mock-ups (browser and phone) where they serve the shot - Varied angles, perspective and depth in how the captures are staged: tilted planes, layered sections, elements lifted out of the page Which elements of each site deserve the spotlight, and how they interleave with the client footage, is an art-direction decision, and it's yours to propose. Treat each website as a product being filmed, not a document being recorded. WHAT I'LL SUPPLY PER PROJECT - The live website link, plus staging access where needed - The client's promotional footage and photography (quality varies by project; some have professional video, some strong photo sets) - Brand colours and short project notes on what mattered in the build DELIVERABLES PER PROJECT - One web loop: 15 to 25 seconds, 16:9, 1920x1080 minimum, muted, no text overlays, no logos or captions burned in, edited to loop cleanly. Delivered as H.264 MP4 plus WebM, optimised for web embedding (target under roughly 8MB for the loop) - One master version: the same edit at the highest quality you produce (4K welcome), for future social use. Light sound design or music on the master is a nice-to-have, not required HOW WE'LL WORK Pilot first: one video at an agreed price, so we can both check the fit before committing to the series. If it works, the remaining videos follow at an agreed per-video rate on a similar template but not exact, so later ones should get faster. IN YOUR PROPOSAL, PLEASE INCLUDE - Two or three examples of previous work combining live-action footage with website or UI capture animation, ideally showing your own website captures rather than supplied screenshots (this is the deciding factor) - Your price per video and typical turnaround - Which capture, editing and motion tools you work in UK-based or overlapping UK hours is a small plus but not required. Looking forward to seeing your work.
