Native French Speaker to Review & Improve App Translations
Worldwide
About Neurotone Neurotone makes auditory training products that help people with hearing loss understand speech, not just hear it. Lace Pro and Tinnitus Pro are available through hearing care professionals and used by patients at home, built on 20+ years of peer-reviewed science. Content spans patient-facing app copy, educational lessons, spoken exercises, and clinical terminology, with over 10,000 exercises across 30+ topics. The work Our French content has already been translated. We're looking for a native speaker to audit and confirm accurate literacy and cultural appropriateness. Two parts: 1. Content review. You'll receive 500–2,000 short pieces of content — most are brief factoids or short conversational exchanges, roughly 20 words each. For each, you'll assess whether the French reads naturally to a native speaker, correct what doesn't, and flag anything that doesn't work culturally or doesn't fit the context it appears in. 2. In-app review. We'll give you a login to the app. You'll work through every part of it as a user would — navigation, instructions, settings, error messages, onboarding — logging issues and proposing corrections as you go. This catches the problems that never show up in a spreadsheet: text that overflows a button, a term that's fine in isolation but wrong in context, an instruction that makes no sense on the screen it appears on. Who we're looking for Native fluency in French, with native or near-native English fluency A background in teaching, editing, writing, or translation — formal credentials welcome but not required Comfort exercising judgment. Much of this content is conversational, and a literal translation is often the wrong answer. We want someone who will rewrite a line so it sounds like something a person would actually say. Attention to detail across a large volume of small items, and willingness to log issues clearly and consistently Nice to have, not required Experience with localization or QA workflows Familiarity with health, medical, or accessibility content Awareness of writing for older adults, who are most of our users To apply Please include a short note on your background and any editing, teaching, or translation experience.
