Job Title: Natural History Illustrator for Children’s Forest Book I am looking for a skilled illustrator to create a series of individual natural history illustrations for a children’s forest book. This is not a layout or graphic design job. I do not need InDesign files, typography, page design, or complete book spreads. I only need separate illustrations. The first phase will focus on subjects such as acorns, leaves, cones, forest fruits, seeds, and other botanical or natural elements. The style should be naturalistic, elegant, warm, and believable, with a watercolor or hand-painted feel. The illustrations are intended for children, but scientific accuracy is essential. Shapes, proportions, colors, textures, and botanical details must be based on real species. I will provide the subjects and reference material. The illustrator must be comfortable working from real botanical and natural-history references rather than creating generic decorative versions. The illustrations should be supplied as separate high-resolution files suitable for print. PSD, TIFF, or high-resolution PNG files are acceptable. Clean or transparent backgrounds are preferred whenever appropriate. Examples of the first subjects may include: acorns from different oak species leaves from common forest trees cones from different conifers forest fruits and seeds small botanical groups and natural details fungi flowers butterflies insects Please send examples of previous work in botanical illustration, natural history illustration, wildlife illustration, or children’s educational publishing. If the first collaboration works well, the project will continue with many additional forest subjects.
