Nonprofit Bookkeeper and Financial Advisor Needed

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper and Financial Advisor with a strong background in U.S.-based nonprofit organizations and a deep understanding of unique nonprofit funding structures. The ideal candidate will support the organization in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and providing strategic financial guidance aligned with our mission and growth. This role requires a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, including budgeting, grant management, reporting, and compliance. In addition to traditional bookkeeping responsibilities, this role will also manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and payroll processing for a small team of approximately 12 contractors. This includes a customer service component, as the candidate must be willing to be accessible by phone to respond to contractor payroll-related inquiries in a timely, professional, and supportive manner. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated experience with: Invoicing for nonprofits receiving grants and multiple funding sources Tracking payments on a reimbursement basis for grant-funded programs Managing grant-specific ledgers to ensure accurate financial tracking Running financial reports and ensuring compliance with grant requirements Supporting audits and maintaining organized financial documentation We are a growing organization, and the ideal candidate must be adaptable and responsive to evolving needs, with a willingness to support both operational and strategic financial functions.
