Odoo Accounting Consultant – UAE VAT & Tax Advisory (On-Demand)

We are a maritime consultancy firm based in the UAE seeking an experienced Odoo functional consultant with strong expertise in the Accounting module and UAE regulatory compliance. This is strictly an advisory role — not a development or full implementation engagement. We require a reliable specialist we can consult on a flexible, as-needed basis. ---- Scope of Advisory Support: - UAE VAT configuration, fiscal positions, and FTA compliance within Odoo - Tax mapping, tax groups, and VAT return reconciliation - Chart of accounts review and structural optimization - Accounting workflow improvements (journals, reconciliation rules, period-closing procedures) - Multi-currency handling relevant to international maritime transactions - Addressing specific functional accounting questions as they arise ---- Requirements: - Demonstrated hands-on experience with Odoo 19 - Thorough understanding of UAE VAT law and FTA filing obligations - Functional accounting background — CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification is strongly preferred - Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in English, including explaining concepts and recommendations — not just system configuration - Familiarity with service-based or maritime/shipping industry accounting is an advantage - Available for focused consulting sessions (1–2 hours) on a flexible schedule ---- Engagement Terms: Type: Hourly / On-demand retainer Estimated commitment: 5–10 hours per month to start, with potential to expand Location: UAE-based candidates are preferred; remote candidates with demonstrated GCC VAT expertise will be considered ---- To be considered, please address the following in your proposal: 1.
