Odoo Bookkeeper for Manufacturing Business — Books Cleanup + Daily Quote Support

Skyliner Gear LLC is a small, made-to-order manufacturer of premium van conversion components (aluminum-frame cabinetry, kitchen galleys, bed systems) based in the Pacific Northwest. We build custom and semi-custom products for individual customers and B2B upfitter partners, using Odoo as our ERP for sales orders, inventory, and accounting. We're looking for an experienced bookkeeper — ideally with manufacturing or small-business production experience — to clean up and properly categorize our books in Odoo, and then stay on in an ongoing part-time capacity to help keep things current and support fast turnaround on customer quotes. Initial project (first 10–20 hours): -Review historical bank transactions and existing Odoo entries -Properly classify and categorize expenses, distinguishing cost of goods sold (materials, outsourced production/CNC, contracted design labor) from operating expenses (software, marketing, admin, freight) and from non-operating items (owner draws, R&D/reinvestment) -Flag ambiguous or unlabeled transactions for owner review rather than guessing -Note: we'll share a starting chart-of-accounts structure as a reference point, but it hasn't been fully validated — part of this role is helping us correct and refine it, not just applying it as-is Ongoing responsibilities: -Monthly bookkeeping maintenance: categorize new transactions, reconcile accounts, keep Odoo current -Assist with creating new quotes and sales orders in Odoo for incoming customer orders — you'll be given the pricing/scope details and will handle entry and formatting; over time this may expand to more independent quote preparation -Daily availability is required — customer quotes often need a 12–24 hour turnaround, so this is not a role where a multi-day response time works, even on light days -Potential to take on additional light admin/purchase-order work over time, depending on interest and bandwidth Requirements: -Demonstrated experience bookkeeping in Odoo specifically (not just general bookkeeping software) — please describe your Odoo experience directly in your proposal -Experience working with manufacturing, production, or physical-goods businesses (job costing / COGS classification, not just service-business bookkeeping) -Experience supporting small business owners/entrepreneurs directly, comfortable with a lean, fast-moving environment -Conversationally fluent in English — you'll join occasional video calls (frequent during onboarding, minimal afterward) -Available for daily check-ins/turnaround, even if actual hours worked that day are minimal -Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable flagging things you're unsure about rather than guessing at categorization Nice to have: -Experience with per-job / project-based cost accounting (tracking actual cost against a specific sales order, not just general ledger categorization) -Experience with Shopify or e-commerce-adjacent bookkeeping To apply, please answer in your proposal: -Describe your experience bookkeeping specifically within Odoo — what version(s), and what you were responsible for. -Confirm you can commit to daily availability (weekdays at minimum) for quote turnaround, even during the initial cleanup phase.
