Odoo Techno-Functional Consultant | Custom Development, API & AI Integration

## Job Description We are looking for an experienced **Odoo Techno-Functional Consultant / Developer** to join us on a **long-term hourly basis**. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across both the **functional and technical sides of Odoo** — understanding business requirements, translating them into scalable ERP solutions, developing custom modules, integrating third-party systems, and optimizing existing Odoo workflows. We are particularly interested in someone who has experience with **Odoo custom development, API integrations, and AI/LLM integrations** and can work independently with minimal supervision. ## Key Responsibilities * Analyze business requirements and translate them into clear functional and technical specifications. * Understand existing business workflows and recommend suitable Odoo solutions. * Configure and customize standard Odoo modules according to business requirements. * Develop and maintain custom Odoo modules using Python. * Extend and customize existing Odoo modules without compromising maintainability. * Develop custom models, views, reports, workflows, server actions, and business logic. * Integrate Odoo with third-party applications and external systems through REST APIs. * Develop and integrate AI-powered features into Odoo. * Troubleshoot functional and technical issues and identify root causes. * Optimize Odoo performance, workflows, and database operations. * Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide practical ERP solutions. * Perform testing, debugging, deployment, and post-deployment support. * Maintain clean, scalable, well-documented, and version-controlled code. ## Required Technical Skills * Strong experience with **Odoo development and customization**. * Experience with **Odoo v16, v17, or v18**. * Strong **Python** programming skills. * Good knowledge of **PostgreSQL**. * Strong understanding of **Odoo ORM** and module architecture. * Experience with **XML and QWeb**. * Experience with Odoo views, reports, security/access rights, workflows, automated actions, and scheduled actions. * Good understanding of **JavaScript**; OWL experience is a plus. * Experience developing and consuming **REST APIs**. * Experience with **Git / Git-based development workflows**. * Ability to debug and troubleshoot Odoo server and application issues. * Good understanding of Odoo deployment and server environments is a plus. ## Functional / Business Knowledge The candidate should have a good understanding of one or more of the following Odoo business areas: * Sales * CRM * Purchase * Inventory * Manufacturing (MRP) * Accounting * HR * Project Management * Point of Sale (POS) Strong business process analysis and the ability to translate real-world business requirements into Odoo solutions are highly valued. ## AI & Automation Experience Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into Odoo is highly preferred. Examples include: * AI-powered chat assistants * OpenAI / Claude / Gemini API integration * Automated email and content generation * Intelligent reporting and data analysis * OCR and document processing * AI-based data extraction * Predictive analytics * AI-powered workflow automation * Natural-language interfaces for Odoo data * AI-assisted business process automation You do not need experience with every AI use case listed above.
