Odoo + Xero Bookkeeper and Accountant

We are seeking an experienced senior bookkeeper and accountant to assist our Australian business's financial operations. Responsibilities include bookkeeping, accounts, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Odoo and Xero accounting systems and be able to provide accurate financial insights to support business decisions. Requirements: Strong accounting/bookkeeping experience Excellent understanding of Australian GST and BAS – essential Strong technical accounting knowledge Experience with Australian payroll and STP High attention to detail and reconciliation skills Able to investigate discrepancies and resolve issues independently Experience with Xero and/or Odoo highly regarded Accounting/bookkeeping qualification preferred Excellent written and spoken English Key tasks you must be able to understand and complete: Accounts payable and receivable Bank and credit card reconciliations Payroll processing, STP, superannuation and leave BAS preparation and GST reconciliation Month-end reconciliations and journals Fixed asset register and depreciation Asset purchases, disposals and write-offs Prepayments and amortisation schedules Accruals and adjusting journal entries Loan and finance account reconciliations Balance Sheet and P&L review Liaising with external accountant as required Assist with accounting system and process improvements
