Ongoing Event Graphic Designer for Large-Format Print Artwork

Happy Moments is an event styling and décor business looking for a creative, reliable graphic designer to support us on an ongoing freelance basis. We need someone who can create beautiful event designs and also prepare them correctly for professional printing. This is not mainly a social-media design role. Experience with event graphics and large-format print artwork is essential. Typical projects may include: • Bespoke event logos and monograms • Backdrops and large printed panels • Welcome signs and seating plans • Large photographic boards and cut-outs • Game boards and interactive event signs • Magazine-style photobooth covers • Menu cards, table stationery and invitations • Flags, vinyl graphics and floor decals • Photo editing, enhancement and background removal • Visual mock-ups showing how designs will look when installed • Other occasional event-related artwork We will usually provide the wording, measurements, photographs, colour palette and inspiration images. The designer should be able to understand the creative direction and turn it into an original, elegant and professionally finished design. The successful designer must have: • Relevant experience creating artwork for events and large-format printing • Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills • A good understanding of CMYK colour, scale, bleed, safe areas and image resolution • The ability to work with exact dimensions and printer templates • Excellent attention to detail, spelling and alignment • Good communication and the ability to follow feedback • A dependable and fast turnaround Final deliverables should normally include: • A print-ready PDF prepared to the required dimensions • An editable source file such as AI, PSD, EPS or SVG • A high-resolution JPG or PNG preview • Fonts outlined or embedded where required • Up to two reasonable revision rounds • Correction of any technical file issue identified by the printer For straightforward artwork, an initial draft will usually be required within 12–24 hours. More detailed or complex artwork should normally be completed within 24–48 hours. There may occasionally be urgent same-day requests, which will always be discussed before work begins. Before starting each assignment, the designer must confirm the estimated number of hours and expected delivery time. The role will begin with one paid trial project. If the quality, communication and turnaround are right, regular ongoing work will follow. We currently have a project ready to begin, so immediate availability is an advantage.
