Optical Engineer Needed for Smartphone Camera Lens Prototype

I’m exploring a smartphone camera lens/filter concept and am looking for an optical engineer or camera optics specialist to help me determine if the idea is technically feasible. The idea is a physical lens or filter that attaches over a smartphone camera and creates a noticeably different look—something softer, more flattering, and closer to the aesthetic people like from older digital cameras or film, rather than the very sharp/processed look of modern smartphone cameras. Right now, I’m NOT looking for a finished product or full prototype. I mainly want to understand: • Can a physical lens/filter actually create enough of this effect to make a noticeable difference? • How much can realistically be achieved through optics alone rather than an app/software filter? • Can things like softness, highlights, contrast, color rendering, diffusion, etc. be influenced enough to create a distinct “look”? Most importantly, I want an honest technical opinion on whether the effect could be significant enough for this to make sense as a consumer product. If the idea is feasible, I would potentially be interested in continuing with the same person into testing, prototyping, and development. Experience with camera optics, smartphone cameras, optical filters/coatings, diffusion filters, or lens design is preferred.
