Orchard Site Plan Drawing from Hand-Drawn Field Maps
Worldwide
We have a regenerative farm in southwest Missouri with a young orchard of roughly 300 fruit and nut trees, plus a vineyard. The orchard was laid out in an unusual shape — a half-circle fan, with rows planted as concentric arcs radiating out from a central point, like an amphitheater. The vineyard sits below it in straight rows. Right now the only record of what's planted where is a set of hand-drawn pencil maps on paper. We need those turned into a clean, professional site plan drawing. This is an illustration and information-design job, not an engineering drawing. We are not looking for permit or construction documents. WHAT WE'LL GIVE YOU Photographs of the hand-drawn field maps A typed species key, about 30 fruit, nut, and berry species A row-by-row inventory listing every plant in order A screenshot of the existing irrigation plan A written design brief covering layout, zones, and site constraints WHAT WE NEED BACK A scaled plan-view drawing of the full orchard, both zones, plus the vineyard Every plant shown in its actual row and position, labeled by species code Rows numbered clearly Irrigation lines overlaid Paths and the central open area shown Species key printed on the sheet A plant schedule table: code, common name, quantity, row locations STYLE Clean and readable first, attractive second. This gets printed for our crew and shown to guests. Think botanical garden map or a well-made estate plan — not a technical CAD drawing. DELIVERABLES — all three required PNG, high resolution PDF, vector The editable source file, layered (Illustrator preferred) The editable file matters to us. The orchard changes every season and we need to update the drawing ourselves without re-hiring for every small edit. WHEN APPLYING Please include one or two examples of plan-view or map-style work — a garden, park, campus, property, or similar. Tell us what software you'd use and your timeline. Start your reply with the word ORCHARD so we know you read this. Timeline: 2–3 weeks is fine. We care more about accuracy and legibility than speed.
