PCB Design Project – Mixed-Signal Video / LVDS / HDMI / Audio Board – Experienced Engineer
Worldwide
I’m looking for an experienced PCB hardware engineer / designer to help take an existing custom electronics project through schematic review, PCB layout, prototyping, and eventually production. This is a paid commercial project, not a hobby collaboration. The product is a compact display/controller board involving a combination of: Analog video processing High-speed digital video including LVDS and HDMI Embedded MCU control External SDRAM Audio ADC/amplification Bluetooth/Wi-Fi modules Multiple local power rails Controlled-impedance routing Low-profile mechanical constraints A fairly detailed engineering specification has already been developed, including the intended system architecture, major component selections, signal paths, power requirements, connector requirements, test points, mechanical restrictions, and prototype validation gates. I am looking for someone who can critically review the design rather than simply copy the specification into KiCad. The ideal person should have real-world experience with mixed-signal PCB design, particularly video or other high-bandwidth analog circuitry, LVDS/TMDS differential routing, SDRAM layout, RF module placement/antenna keep-outs, switching power supplies, audio, EMI/ESD, and production DFM. The board is approximately 140 × 65 mm, six-layer, low-profile, with a strong emphasis on keeping analog video clean while digital video, wireless, audio and switching-power circuitry operate on the same PCB. The design is intended to progress through EVT/DVT/PVT and ultimately an initial production quantity in roughly the 500–1,000 unit range. I would prefer someone who can handle or assist with: Schematic review and completion Component and package verification PCB placement and routing Stack-up and impedance requirements Signal/power integrity review DFM/DFA Prototype bring-up Debugging and design revisions after EVT Production Gerbers/ODB++, BOM, pick-and-place and manufacturing documentation KiCad experience is strongly preferred. Because this is a commercial product, I don’t want to post the complete architecture, schematic details, component list or mechanical design publicly. I can provide the full specification and additional information privately to serious candidates, preferably after an NDA. If interested, please send me a PM with: A brief description of your background Examples/photos of relevant boards you have designed Any experience specifically with video, LVDS/HDMI, SDRAM or mixed-signal designs Whether you do schematic + PCB layout + bring-up Your general availability Your location/time zone Whether you normally work hourly or fixed-price I’m especially interested in finding one experienced engineer who can stay involved through prototype bring-up and production, rather than outsourcing isolated pieces of the project to several unrelated designers.
