PCB / PCBA Engineer with Technical Writing Experience Needed for Long-Term Content
Worldwide
Job Description We are looking for a PCB / PCBA engineer or electronics engineer who has real hands-on experience in PCB design, PCB manufacturing, PCB assembly, SMT, DFM, troubleshooting, or related electronics manufacturing processes. This is not a general SEO writing position. We are primarily looking for someone who understands PCB and PCBA engineering and can clearly explain technical topics based on practical experience. We will provide the topic and basic content direction. You do not need to conduct extensive SEO research or create a full content strategy. Typical topics may include: PCB design and DFM PCB manufacturing cost factors PCB stackup and routing Vias, Via-in-Pad, VIPPO, blind and buried vias SMT and THT assembly BGA, QFN and fine-pitch component assembly Soldering defects and troubleshooting PCB assembly testing and inspection Component sourcing and obsolescence Prototype PCB assembly Common PCB manufacturing and assembly problems What We Need For each topic, we will usually provide 3–5 technical questions or a simple article structure. Your task is to provide approximately 600–1,000 words of original technical content, based on your own engineering knowledge and practical experience. We especially value content that includes: Real engineering considerations Practical examples Common mistakes you have seen Manufacturing or assembly problems you have encountered Design trade-offs Typical parameter ranges where appropriate Situations where a PCB manufacturer may request design changes Differences between theoretical design and real production Perfect English is not required. Clear technical explanations and genuine engineering experience are more important than polished marketing language. Our editor will handle final language polishing and SEO optimization. Requirements You should have experience in at least one or more of the following areas: PCB design using Altium Designer, KiCad, Cadence, OrCAD, or similar tools PCB fabrication / DFM PCB assembly / PCBA SMT manufacturing Electronics hardware development NPI engineering PCB troubleshooting and debugging Embedded hardware development Electronics manufacturing Previous technical writing experience is preferred but not mandatory. Engineers who regularly write technical documentation, project reports, design notes, tutorials, LinkedIn posts, or engineering articles are also welcome. Important We are not looking for generic AI-generated articles. AI may be used for grammar or language improvement, but the technical content must come from your own engineering knowledge and experience. During the application process, we may ask several practical PCB/PCBA questions to better understand your engineering background. Work Volume This is intended to be a long-term collaboration. Typical workload: 4–10 topics per month Typical article length: 600–1,000 words Initial budget: USD $30–50 per article, depending on technical depth and experience. How to Apply Please include the following information: Your PCB / PCBA or electronics engineering background. How many years of practical experience you have. Which areas you are most familiar with: PCB design, fabrication, SMT, assembly, DFM, troubleshooting, testing, etc. Which PCB design or engineering tools you normally use. Whether you have worked directly with PCB manufacturers or PCBA factories. One or two examples of technical writing, engineering documentation, articles, or technical posts, if available. Please also briefly answer this question: In your actual PCB design experience, what are 3 design decisions that can significantly increase PCB manufacturing cost, and why? We are more interested in practical engineering answers than textbook explanations.
