Summary

We're an Australian warehouse-robotics company (Shelfbot) looking for a PCB designer for a series of small boards over the coming months. First board is a small, fully-specified 2-layer design — treated as a paid trial for an ongoing working relationship. Board 1 (paid trial): a passive Ethernet 24 V tap board, ~76 × 44 mm, 2-layer. Two through-hole RJ45 jacks passing 100BASE-TX data straight through, 24 V riding the spare pairs, and a protected 24 V branch feeding a drop-in USB-C PD power module. We supply the main components (jacks, module geometry, datasheets) and the constraints — the circuit and layout design is yours to propose; the attached brief says exactly what your proposal should cover. Estimated 3–6 hours for someone who does this regularly. Suggest some board layouts, and possibly an off the shelf aluminium enclosure with a 3D printed panel. Later boards: a sensor/controller board around an industrial Ethernet (EtherCAT) slave controller + microcontroller, and a compact controller board around a Linux SoM with dual Ethernet. Quoted separately as they come up. Requirements We manufacture and assemble at JLCPCB. You deliver production-ready outputs matched to their workflow: Gerbers + drill, BOM and CPL in JLC's format, checked against JLC's assembly preview (rotations/polarity corrected). Every component must be standard, off-the-shelf, and in stock at the supplier (LCSC / JLC parts library) at design time — prefer Basic-library parts to avoid feeder loading fees; flag any Extended part before using it. No obsolete, no single-source exotics, no "customer supplied" unless we say so. Editable source files delivered with each milestone (native project files, any professional ECAD tool is fine), plus footprint sources for custom parts. Work-for-hire — we own the files. Comfortable with: 2-layer layouts, Ethernet differential pairs, 24 V power, through-hole connectors, custom footprints from datasheet drawings. Clear written English; async communication (we're UTC+10). Nice to have EtherCAT / industrial-Ethernet or PoE-style powered-Ethernet experience DFM familiarity with JLC economic assembly limits Experience designing around drop-in modules (power modules, SoMs) To apply The short design proposal described at the end of the attached brief — your protection scheme, layout plan, the risks you see, your questions, and a fixed quote + turnaround. This is the main thing we select on. Links to 2–3 boards you've designed that shipped via JLCPCB (or similar fab+assembly), ideally with Ethernet or DC power content. Confirm you can deliver editable source + JLC-ready fab/assembly outputs. Fixed price per board, milestone on delivery of accepted outputs.
