Packaging Designer for Coffee Products

We’re looking for an experienced graphic/packaging designer to help us develop three new packaging pieces for Black Market Coffee, an Australian coffee roaster. We already have an established brand identity, including our logo, colours, fonts, illustrations and other graphic assets. We’ve also developed visual concepts for the packaging, so we're not looking for a rebrand. We need someone with a great eye for packaging to take our existing brand and concepts, refine them and turn them into cohesive, professional, print-ready designs. The project includes: 1. Liberty Blend Coffee Pod Packaging Packaging for our OG Liberty Blend coffee pods. The direction is already established using our core brand palette of black, cream and blue/teal, along with our existing logo, illustrations and brand assets. 2. Rhythm Blend Coffee Pod Packaging A second version of the same pod packaging for our Rhythm Blend. This should retain essentially the same overall design system and layout as Liberty, but introduce our existing Rhythm pink as a secondary colour so customers can easily differentiate the two blends. We don't want these to feel like two unrelated designs — they should clearly belong to the same product family. 3. Premium Custom Gift/Mailer Box A premium branded gift box measuring: 270mm x 230mm x 100mm high The box opens along the long side and will contain a gold coffee cupping spoon and a postcard-sized booklet, neatly presented within a custom cardboard insert. The design will primarily use black and our signature blue/teal and should feel premium while still retaining the personality of Black Market Coffee. We will provide: Existing logos Brand colours and fonts Illustrations/icons and graphic assets Existing coffee packaging for reference Concept mock-ups for all three designs Packaging dimensions Printer dielines/specifications once available Product information and required packaging copy Scope of work We need someone to: Refine and finalise the Liberty coffee pod box Adapt the system into the Rhythm coffee pod box Design the exterior of the premium gift box Design the inside-lid experience of the gift box Consider artwork/details across the sides and opening experience Work with supplied packaging dielines Ensure all required product information is laid out clearly Prepare all artwork for commercial printing Supply final print-ready PDFs and editable source files The concepts and overall creative direction are already quite developed. What we're looking for is someone who can bring a professional packaging-design eye to them — improving hierarchy, typography, spacing, consistency and production details while staying true to our existing brand. Who we're looking for Strong packaging design experience is important for this project. When applying, please send us 2–3 examples of packaging you've designed, particularly boxes, food/beverage packaging or product ranges with multiple variants. Experience preparing artwork from printer dielines and supplying production-ready packaging files is highly desirable. There is also potential for ongoing packaging and brand design work with Black Market Coffee if we work well together.
