Paid Video Job for Developers: Record Yourself Running Multiple AI Coding Agents (Windows or Mac)
Worldwide
We're hiring 3 developer-creators for a paid video competition about DevThrottle, our open source tool for running many command-line coding agents at once. Fixed $100 each, another $100 for the creator whose videos bring in the most new signups, and you learn the tool directly from the founder. FACTS - Pay: $100 fixed per creator (Upwork milestone; minimum 5 videos) - Hiring: 3 developer-creators - most likely two on Windows, one on Mac - Window: Friday, August 14 - Friday, September 11 - Winner, by most new signups: +$100 and first in line for future paid work - To apply: a short video of yourself using DevThrottle, in your own voice - Proposals due: Wednesday, August 12 FIRST, THE TOOL (you need it to apply) DevThrottle is an open source desktop app for Windows and Mac that runs a whole team of command-line coding agents at once - not six disconnected terminals you babysit, one dashboard you supervise. You mix agents from different makers, watch them all in one place, and check in on them by voice from your phone while they work. Get it at https://devthrottle.com/go/upwork - create an account and download. Then learn it at https://devthrottle.com/docs/tutorials - 25 written tutorials, each one job from start to finish. We are writing and updating these right now, so expect them to grow and change while you work. WHERE WE ARE RIGHT NOW (please read before you install) DevThrottle is released and it works - but we are moving fast, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The tutorials and documentation are being written and updated as you read this. A few things are not finished. There are still bugs. We chose to bring the video creators in early rather than wait for everything to be perfect, and that is why you are reading this now instead of in two months. So if you hit a bug, or you think something should work better, tell me. Bug reports and suggestions for how to improve the product are genuinely valuable to us - they are not complaints, and raising one will never count against you or your pay. You will be among the first people outside the team using this properly. That is the point. HOW TO APPLY (this is the whole hiring process) 1. Get DevThrottle at https://devthrottle.com/go/upwork and try it (Windows or Mac; Windows recommended, Mac creators welcome). Note: Windows may hold the download - open your browser's downloads list and click Keep, and it completes instantly. On a Mac there is no download button on purpose - Apple blocks it - so use the terminal command shown on the download page. It is the same installer. 2. Record a brief video of YOURSELF using DevThrottle - your real voice narrating (face on camera is your choice). A few minutes is plenty. 3. Attach it to your Upwork proposal. That video is your application and your interview - there is no separate interview step. We hire the people who can run the product on camera and explain it clearly. Proposals due Wednesday, August 12. The 3 creators are chosen on Friday, August 14 - and the competition starts that same day. THE DEAL (everything you get) Cash: - $100 fixed, set up as an Upwork milestone: deliver your videos through Upwork - minimum 5 - by September 11 and the milestone pays. Your pay does not depend on when we publish, on views, or on winning. - Winner: another $100. The competition: - The winner is the creator whose videos bring the most new DevThrottle signups. - You choose your own personal address - devthrottle.com/go/your-word - and every signup through it is yours, no matter where the viewer saw your video. Say it in every video. - We send you YOUR numbers every day - views and signups. Nobody sees anyone else's numbers. - Fair count: we count real people who actually try the app, and we monitor how signups come in. Artificially boosted numbers - friends and family, bought signups - will not count. Beyond the cash: - Your DevThrottle usage is on us through September 11. - You work directly with the founder and learn to run many coding agents at once - a skill most developers do not have yet. - Every published video goes up on the official DevThrottle YouTube channel. The videos are made for us and we own them - and you are welcome to share and repost them anywhere you like with your personal link. More reach means more signups for you. - The winner is first in line for future paid DevThrottle video work, at rates agreed in writing. It is real work when the quality is real - not a guaranteed retainer. WHAT EACH VIDEO IS - A real screen recording of you using DevThrottle to build or change software with multiple agents, narrated so a new developer gets it. - At least 3 minutes, and it should end when the lesson is complete. This is NOT a short - but you may cut shorts off any of your videos, and they count toward your signups. - True, useful, and made by you. Sell the real features - what DevThrottle actually does is impressive enough. We review every video before publishing; videos that are untrue, exaggerated, AI-narrated, or mass-produced do not go up. WHAT YOU DELIVER (per video) A ready-to-post package, not just a file: 1. The video itself (plus any optional shorts). 2. The exact title and description text to post with it. 3. Any first comment you want pinned (optional). 4. Step-by-step posting instructions - visibility, tags, thumbnail, timing - so we publish it exactly the way you intend. WHAT YOU MUST COVER Across your videos, show the main features - the parallel-agent dashboard, mixing agents from different makers, checking in and answering by voice from your phone, screen recording with AgentEyes (our screen-recording tool for agent sessions), and more. We give you the full checklist, reference videos, and documentation when you start. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR - A developer - enough to write and run real code in any language. You do NOT need to be a senior engineer; how you use DevThrottle is the point. - On Windows or Mac, and we expect to hire two Windows creators and one Mac creator. DevThrottle was built Windows-first and is most battle-tested there, so that is where we want most of the videos for now - until Mac is as good as Windows. The Mac seat is real, and Mac creators are welcome to take it. - Clear, natural English in your OWN voice. No AI narration - applications or videos with synthetic voices are rejected. We are hiring a real developer who can use the product and explain it on camera. - Someone who actually wants to learn this. Running many coding agents at once is a skill most developers do not have yet - you will, and you learn it from the founder. PAY AND DATES - Fixed pay: $100 per creator - an Upwork milestone, paid when your minimum 5 videos are delivered by September 11. - Winner: +$100 and first in line for future paid work (most signups). - Proposals due: Wednesday, August 12. - Creators chosen + start: Friday, August 14. - Competition window: Friday, August 14 - Friday, September 11. - Winner decided: Friday, September 18. Signups keep counting after September 11, which gives videos posted late in the window more time to convert. This is a starting engagement. If you are strong, there is much more where this came from.
