Part-Time Bookkeeper Needed – FreshBooks, Stripe & Two Related Small Businesses

I own two related small education businesses — a tutoring company and a small private school — and I’m looking for an experienced part-time bookkeeper to help keep our books accurate and organized. We use FreshBooks and Stripe, including FreshBooks payroll. I currently handle invoicing, payments, and payroll myself and would like to continue doing so. I need someone to handle the bookkeeping/reconciliation side and make sure everything is being recorded correctly. Responsibilities will include: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly Reconcile Stripe deposits with FreshBooks Review and categorize income and expenses Review payroll entries for accuracy Make sure the two businesses are kept properly separated Properly account for any transactions or reimbursements between the two businesses Review outstanding invoices/accounts receivable Identify and correct bookkeeping issues Maintain accurate, accountant-ready books Provide a simple monthly P&L and balance sheet I would initially like someone to review the current setup and clean up any issues, then continue with light monthly bookkeeping. This should be a relatively small ongoing engagement once everything is set up correctly. Important: This is a bookkeeping and reconciliation role. I will retain control of bill payment, banking, invoicing, and payroll. No bank login credentials or authority to move money will be provided or required. Ideal candidate: Strong bookkeeping experience with U.S. small businesses Hands-on FreshBooks experience Experience reconciling Stripe Bank/credit card reconciliation experience Familiarity with payroll accounting Comfortable maintaining books for two related business entities Able to explain issues clearly to a non-accountant Experience with education, tutoring, professional services, or other small service businesses is a plus.
